Summary
From the number one bestselling author, Peter James, comes I Follow You, a nerve-shredding standalone thriller.
To the outside world, suave, charming and confident doctor Marcus Valentine has it all. A loving wife, three kids, a great job. But there’s something missing, there always has been. . . . or rather, someone . . .
Driving to work one morning, his mind elsewhere and not on the road, he almost mows down a female jogger on a crossing. As she runs on, Marcus is transfixed. Infatuated. She is the spitting image of a girl he was crazy about in his teens. A girl he has never been able to get out of his mind.
Lynette had dumped him harshly. For years he has fantasized about seeing her again and rekindling their flame. Might that jogger possibly be her all these years later? Could this be the most incredible coincidence?
Despite all his attempts to resist, he is consumed by cravings for this woman. And when events take a tragically unexpected turn, his obsession threatens to destroy both their worlds. But still he won’t stop. Can’t stop.

Sound quality
Great story as ever from Peter James - I just found the sound quality dreadful- this seems to be happening more & more on audible pieces - not sure what happened on quality control - especially when this app is literally about the audio! I am an avid audible, I have tried every setting & reloading it to no avail Disappointed with sound - great story :-/

Compelling!
At the very beginning, I wondered if it was going anywhere but the build up to climax is brilliant and gripping. Also superbly read by Justin Avoth, clear, right pace, excellent expression. I certainly recommend this!

Well, I was conflicted then gripped
I found myself getting annoyed with the overtly middle class, male gaze language. The affluent characters in their privileged lives. But as the arrogant, twisted character was revealed I was gripped and couldn't stop listening

Good story poor sound
Read before purchasing that other listeners had struggled. I found it an issue I only persevered because I like Peter James books. The only wayI could comfortably listen was through headphones.

An enjoyable stand alone novel from Peter James
I found this book compelling, interesting storyline even though you know who the bad guy is quite early in the book. It makes for tense listening and I only relaxed at the last chapter. I strongly recommend this book.
I was an avid listener of the Roy Grace series until it became more about Cleo and the children, a little too much saccharine mixed in with the story. It’s a shame because I’ve listened to 14 of the Roy Grace series. I will now try some more of his stand alone novels.
