Summary
'Ross Greenwood doesn’t write clichés. What he has written here is a fast-paced, action-filled puzzle with believable characters that's spiced with a lot of humour' Kath Middleton
There’s a killer on the streets, and no one is safe…
First there was the drowned man, but maybe his death was an accident?
Then there were the decapitated bodies, the burnt girl, the women pursued in the dark. Finally the police have to admit there’s a serial killer on the loose and he seems set on revenge. His name is Abel and his crimes are escalating every day.
Dan Flood, Olivia Jones and their two young children are a family at breaking point. The mundane juggle of parenting and work means that the romance is draining away. Living in a community that is growing ever more fearful, just adds to the pressure in their lives.
But when Abel turns his attention on Olivia, only Dan can save her…
Bestseller Ross Greenwood’s serial killer thriller is perfect for fans of Mark Billingham, Ian Rankin and Peter Robinson.
'Move over Rebus and Morse; a new entry has joined the list of great crime investigators in the form of Detective Inspector John Barton. A rich cast of characters and an explosive plot kept me turning the pages until the final dramatic twist' Richard Burke
This book was previously published as ABEL’S REVENGE.

Fantastic twist!
I’m a massive fan of Ross Greenwood’s books and this did not disappoint.
It made me laugh in places and had me thinking all the way through. The twist at the end is one of the best yet!

Great twists
A great listen with many moments when you think you have the answer. It may have just been a few chapters to long though imo.

Who knew murder could be so funny?!
A brilliant stand alone from Mr Greenwood.
Gruesome murders and not a police officer in sight! Utterly refreshing.
Sharp and dripping with sarcasm. Intricate and clever observations of daily life told from each characters point of view.
Dark and twisty with laugh out loud one liners.
For me it’s Mr Greenwoods best! I love Barton and of course Ashley - but this was brilliant. 6 hours 51 minutes in one day proves it was worth listening to late into the night.
Hope there will be more like this in the very near future!

My new favourite author.
Binged it too quickly. Love the way this author writes but it also wouldn’t be as good without the amazing narrator that gives life to all the characters.

Another great listen
I first listened to a free audiobook from this author, from the DI Barton series and became hooked straight away. I've now moved on to the stand alone novels and these do not disappoint.
Hunter was a great listen. Characters are always so well developed and I love the twists and turns. It made me laugh out loud at points too. I'd definitely recommend this book

Somewhere and nowhere
I kept thinking the book is going somewhere and the main story will be in the next chapter but this did not happen until the end. This is definitely a book I would not recommend not up to his usual standard of writing
