Summary

An all new duet narrated multicast series from USA Today best-selling authors Meg Anne and K. Loraine.

She’s everything I want, and I hate her for it.

Hate might not be the right emotion for what Dahlia stirs in me. But I can’t have her, so telling myself I don’t want her is the only option. Especially since my dog won’t leave her alone. While I’ve been doing my best to avoid the woman I crave, my pup has taken on the role of her protector. He follows her every chance he gets. That’s probably for the best because there’s a serial killer on the loose and he’s got his sights set on her. At least, that’s what the ghosts keep saying. With her beast out of commission it’s up to the rest of us to keep her safe.

Her fae outcast

Her rogue captain

And me…her reluctant shadow

As much as I should stay away, fate keeps throwing us together and it’s not hard to see the reason why. Dahlia is unlocking me piece by piece.

My memories might be slow to return, but my power isn’t. Since arriving at Blackwood it’s grown by leaps and bounds, bringing one truth into sharp focus. I need her, forbidden as she is. She’s the light to my darkness and despite our differences our powers are clearly connected. If I have any hope of solving the mystery of who I am, Dahlia and I will have to work together to stop the Ripper before he gets what he wants. Her.

She is the key to all of it. And without her, I will never again be whole.

For fans of Supernatural and American Horror Story, USA Today bestselling authors Meg Anne and K. Loraine are thrilled to bring you another installment in the Mate Games Universe.

Warning: The Mate Games: Death is a spicy paranormal series with a cast of antiheroes utterly devoted to their heroine (even if they haven’t realized it yet). It contains a cursed Novasgardian berserker with primal energy, a dastardly pirate captain who deals in pixie dust, a possessive fae dragon shifter who is fond of hand necklaces, and a mysterious Southern gentleman who’d show her what he liked if only he could remember.

I think this series is amazing.

One of the best audiobooks I’ve listened to in a while, plenty of spice, story/plot and it even includes a cute little Dog.

I Loved it

This is the second instalment in the Mate Games: Death and the story continues from where we were left at the end of the first book and adds even more depth and intrigue to the story and the characters. Following Hook's mischief and the ramifications they brought, I wondered how or even if there was any hope for Tor.

The characters are so well drawn and interesting and the added twist in this second instalment kept me glued to my phone as I listened and wondered what would happen next. I loved all the emotions, the highs and the lows as the authors go deeper into the character's pasts and learn so much more about them.

The cliffhanger ending makes you desperate to see what will happen next in book three. The tension, intrigue, drama, mystery, emotion, humour, chemistry and spice continue to hold me enthralled.

This is a non-spoiler review as I don't want to give anything away, what I will say is I can't wait for the next instalment.

The narration and the way the cast brings all of the characters to life could not be improved upon. Stella Hunter's portrayal of Dahlia is amazing and really allows us to feel all her emotions and the love she feels for all her men. As for the guys James Joseph, Jason Clarke, J.F. Harding and John Hartley really bring out their character's protectiveness and deep devotion to Dahlia. The addition in this series of Samantha Brentmoor as Kiki brings some light relief as well as the more serious Dr.Masterson, I just love her Scottish accent and Listen out for a surprise guest voice that will bring back some characters we met previously in The Mate Games universe as well as some new characters.

We are not worthy!!!!

I don't know how they keep doing it but Meg Anne and K Loraine continue to absolutely enthral me with their devilish creativity. There are SO MANY layers to this book, this round and the whole interconnected series and universe that they constantly have me guessing and trying to catch all the threads to make the connections. I'm close to having a "murder board" on my wall of all the characters and plot points trying to make connections with red thread. Who is the Supernatural Ripper? What is Death's plot? And for the love of god WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE SHADOW COURT?!!!! I may have got a little heavily invested in this world but they are so freaking good at creating and transporting you off to their magical and spicy alternate reality.

This book is just more of the delicious same as the tension ramps up. Can Dahlia save Tor from the curse? The supernatural ripper is getting closer with his victims and attacks and the sinister ghosts of Blackwood are circling our girl Dahlia. Plus things are starting to get a bit more intense with her tortured dragon Kai, the roguish pirate Hook and our seductively mysterious Cain. Will the enigmatic Cain finally crack and give in to temptation? Will we start to find out who he is?

This audio is one the greatest joys available in this life. THIS CAST!!!! I have paltry and puny words to describe their magnificence, their pure raw talent and magnetic chemistry and just kinship with these books. It is truly breath taking to experience. I love listening to them all so much in this, it is the highlight of any day getting a few moments to lock myself away and immerse myself into this audio delight.

Stella Hunter and Samantha Brentmoor are the undisputed audio queens and a powerhouse double act in the adorable and manic besties of Dahlia and Kiki. But they are both effortless in their other roles, Samantha Brentmoor is masterful (sorry for the clumsy pun but not really) as the head of the institute Dr Masterson and that soft Scottish brogue, well girl crush material. Stella Hunter reminds everyone why she is the fan favourite by bringing out all her character work including wicked enticing vampire Sorcha Blackthorne...(I hope we hear more of her).

The boys are no less impressive and there isn't much more I can say that I haven't already. Jason Clarke was born to play the role of the tormented and cursed Viking Tor if not for those GROWLS, yep legit ones, when the Beast comes out to play.
A tortured romantic hero perfectly cast.

Parallel to this we have his British counterpart in the amazing John Hartley and that possessive seductive dragon voice and lethal Scottish baritone. I found myself falling under his siren spell one too many times listening to this.

JF Harding just never ever fails to deliver and this book is no exception. In a different type of role than usual in this universe he plays the standoffish aloof Cain, in his stride and also manages to effortlessly bring out that hint of pain and longing in him to make him irresistible.

James Joseph though might just try to steal the limelight in this one with that remarkable, irresistibly charming, morally grey pirate Caspian Hook. Wickedly funny and unrepentant but helplessly drawn to our main girl Dahlia with an almost childlike incredulity its delightful to hear him try to charm his way into getting what he wants and for the first time not getting away with it.

Sparks, no, raging fires burn in this one and it is everything.

Fascinating Series!

This is the second book in The Mate Games (Death), a spicy paranormal series. This series is original and captivating. Dahlia and her antiheroes's story continues where the first book left off. The characters are complex and fantastic. The storyline is dark, steamy, and suspenseful. The full cast of narrators did an outstanding job bringing this story to life. The audio production is flawless. This audiobook is very pleasant to listen to. Looking forward to listening to the next book in the series. This series is fascinating!

This audio book is as good as it gets

This is the first audio book I wish I could listen to again for the first time. The story is well-paced, funny, sexy, interesting, and the links to fairytales, myths, gods, and so much more are exquisitely done.
The narrators blew my mind - full cast and full experience. Special note goes to to James Joseph for the incredible narration of Cass/Hook, it was so brilliantly done and brought every word from the this character to life. It is exactly how I imagine this character to be and he was hilarious.
All in all, LOVED this and cannot wait for the next installment.

Amazing! I have so many questions

These ladies have done it again. They had me crying with laughter but also had my heart racing with some seriously steamy and intense moments.

Book two in The Mate Games: Death series has left me with so many questions, there are just so many secrets still left to be revealed. Even with the revelations in this book there are still so many unanswered questions, like who is Caspian really? And, what will Cain do now he knows the truth?

I thoroughly enjoyed the character progressions and the evolving dynamic between Dhalia and her men. They have amazing chemistry and something suggests it's about to get explosive.

I would highly recommend getting the audio version of this book. Its multi cast narration and the cast of Stella Hunter, Samantha Brentmoor, James Joseph, Jason Clarke, John Hartley and JF Harding do an amazing job, it elevates the story to a whole new level.

I cannot wait to see what happens next.

So good!! Loving this Mate Games!

Another amazing installment to The Mate Games:Death series and I still have questions and have fallen more for this quirky set of characters! This paranormal romance is not your average story. It's packed with a why choose, and honestly, I can understand it! Dahlia is a romance author with a special gift, and she finds herself immersed in the aura of Blackwood with each of her suitors ready to serve. Caspian's arrogance is showing him just how detrimental the pirate way may be. Kai’s trying to keep his dragon under control, but that does not stop his devotion to Dahlia. Cain continues to try to resist his feelings for Dahlia, but his sidekick pup is constantly tripping him up. And that leaves the growlie beast that is Tor as he works to control his new urges now that his curse has taken hold. And the Ripper is on the loose. This action packed spin on fairy tales has my attention and I cannot get enough. It's passionate and scary while the plot thickens and keeps me guessing. The mix of character cameos from previous Mate Game series just adds to the fun and the cliffhanger...just leaves me wanting more! I cannot wait!

And it's all fueled by a multi cast of narrators, bringing each character alive. Stella Hunter, John Hartley, James Joseph, Jason Clarke, J.F. Harding and Samantha Brentmoor bring out the feelings, the laughs and the fun as this story begins to pick up and keep me wondering! I look forward to hearing more accents and puppy love in the next episode! Bring it on!

Oh My!

I love reading/listening to any book by the combined Meg Anne and K Lorraine - such great wordsmiths. Book two was fantastic - we got to see more of Tor, Kai, Cain and Caspian's character traits coming out. Dahlia is such a kick-ass leading lady but has relatable vulnerabilities as well. Also, we mustn't forget A******, the great doggy companion who has such a great attitude. and puts Cain in line. Once again, this book has everything from humour, romance, mystery, spice - I highly recommend.. The audiobooks are just fantastic due to the great casting of the narrators who all do such a brilliant job. Looking forward to book 3.. .
