About this listen
The story continues in the ninth volume of Hiccup's How to Train Your Dragon memoirs read by David Tennant.
Bad times have come to the Archipelago. Ever since the woods of Berserk burned down, it is almost as if the world is cursed. Dragons are starting to revolt against their Masters. The waters have risen, flooding fields and washing whole villages away. But worse still, the wicked witch Excellinor has returned. Can Hiccup find the King's Things and win the sword-fighting contest to stop Alvin the Treacherous from becoming King of the Wilderwest?
How to Train Your Dragon is a DreamWorks film starring Gerrard Butler, America Ferrera and Jonah Hill, out on DVD adapted from the bestselling How to Train Your Dragon series by Cressida Cowell. Wonderful!
If you could sum up How to Steal a Dragon's Sword in three words, what would they be?
Exciting! Emotional! Roller-coaster!
What does David Tennant bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Life.
I have been reading these books since book one but thanks to lack of time I thought I would give the audio book a try for this one. I was not disappointed. David Tennants was a joy to listen to and the accents were brilliant.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Both!
Even just reading these books I have found that they have quite an emotional impact on me. Listening to them seemed to make it all the stronger.

For Adults & Children Alike
What did you like most about How to Steal a Dragon's Sword?
While our children have outgrown the books for now, my wife and I are still listening. The books are really wonderful and David Tennant brings the stories to life in a way that is rather magical. I would particularly recommend for long car journeys.

LOVED IT!
IT was disgusting, horrible, treac… Just Kidding. It is the complete opposite. It has a lot of tension, amazing storyline by Cressida Cowell, inspirational narrating by David Tennant and it is extremely funny and absolutely 100% amusing and entertaining. A must-read for… actually, I suggest anyone should read it!
