About this listen
USA Today best-selling author K. A. Linde returns to the Royal Houses series with House of Shadows: the story of Kerrigan Argon, a half-Fae, half-human as she seeks her place in an unforgiving world filled with magic, mayhem, and romance. Perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas, Holly Black, and V. E. Schwab.
Kerrigan Argon, a half-human, half-Fae, has joined the Dragon Society against almost everyone's wishes.
A year of training is required with her dragon.
First, she must travel with the dark Fae prince, Fordham Ollivier, back to his home in the House of Shadows. Nothing but slavery and death has ever awaited a half-Fae in their halls.
But something is wrong within their wicked world. A thousand year old spell is weakening. Cracks forming in the foundation. And Kerrigan may just be their ruin or their salvation.

Brilliant!
The universe that K. A Linde has made is totally amazing, and I think the intro about the book didnt do it justice. It is a slow burn, and i love the tension between Kerrigan and Ford, and also the twists and turns for Kerrigan and her friends.
The story is seen from Kerrigans eyes, but also Arbor (Ford’s cousin), the assasion (Isa) and some of Kerrigans friends.
Sure, the story is about Ford and Kerrigans return to the court of shadows for two weeks (!) and the mystery about the wall and Kerrigans visions. But the book is about so much more than that!
It is about the dragon training, her connection or lack there of with her dragon, the magic training, the rebellion, the tension with Ford and the curse. There are many things happening that are trying to seperate Ford and Kerrigan.
What will happen if the walls fall? Will there be war? I will not reveal what happens, just that it is a really good listen.
There is a rebellion between her people (the half fae and humans) that want equal rights with the fae. But the extermist group ‘the Red masks’ will kill anyone they deem lesser. So there is a plot. Who is the leader(the ‘Father’)? Who killed the only victim that could identify the red masks and their plan. The book end with Isa revealing to us whom the leader is,but Kerrigan will not know it untill the end of the next book. It was no clue in the book whom the Father of the red mask is.
Totally worth one credit! The world that K. A Linde has created is just brilliant!
