Summary
Soulmates across time. A love that was meant to be.
In present day, Laurie, tired of corporate life, takes a much-needed vacation at Farthingdale Dude Ranch.
The very first night, a freak blizzard combined with a powerful meteor shower takes Laurie back to the year 1891. When he wakes up in a snowbank, his only refuge is an isolated cabin inhabited by the gruff, grouchy John Henton, who only wants to be left alone. His sense of duty prevails, however, and he takes Laurie under his care, teaching him how to survive on the wild frontier.
As winter approaches, Laurie's normally fun-loving manner makes it difficult for him to connect with John, but in spite of John's old-fashioned ways, the chemistry between them grows.
Sparks fly as the blizzard rages outside the cabin. Can two men from different worlds and different times find happiness together?
A male/male time travel romance, complete with hurt/comfort, true confessions, a shared bed, fireplace kisses, the angst of separation, and true love across time.

A truly beautiful story
This is a real heartstring tugger; prepare to be moved to smiles, tears, and everything in between - I spent most of this book wanting to wrap both MCs up in a big warm hug!

John and his little red fox
Laurie needs a break from his life and decides on a holiday on a dude ranch. He's nothing like a cowboy, but for some reason he's drawn to Farthingdale and its ranch. On his first night they all try to connect with each other around the fire and listening to stories told by Bill, the old ranch hand who knows lots of them. His voice lulls Laurie to sleep, but when he wakes up, he's no longer on the ranch, but almost buried in deep snow. He walks and finds a wooden cabin and a very stern man, John. But what creeps him out the most is that it doesn't seem to be the present, but the past. Over hundred years ago, when John was a frontier and mapping out the country for the railroad company and trying to stay a life in the rough country. But as it was in those days, the two men need to learn to rely on each other in order to survive. But what will happen when relying turns into something more, something that could have you killed. When I read this story for the first time, it took me a couple of days before grabbing a new book. It was such an amazing and emotional journey. The voice of Greg Boudreaux gives me shivers and enhances this story of Old Joe and his little red one. Definitely worth the 5 starts if not more.

There is absolutely nothing about this audiobook I didn’t like. Such a beautiful story. I was so captivated I listened to the whole book in one day. As always the narration is top quality. I can’t recommend this enough.

Beautiful time travel love!
This book has a slow feel to it that matches perfectly the time and place setting. A cabin in Wyoming in the winter of 1891, time passes slowly and unhurriedly, and this is how this beautiful story flows, too. It deserves to be read curled up in a blanket wrap in front of a fireplace!
Laurie and John are forced to stay together in the cabin by Laurie’s time travel, and their love evolves slowly but surely over the time.
I love how John seems to relax and grow more comfortable with Laurie and with himself with the passing of the days, and how he cares for his Little Red.
This second book in the Love Across Time series is a beautiful addition, and I’m so glad to know that there will be two more!

Enjoyable but dragged on at times
The overall story was sweet, but felt the repetition of day to day activities a bit monotonous and that there were missed opportunities to enhance the story. I definitely think more depth to John’s character would make this story more compelling.

A beautiful love story
One of the most beautiful love stories I think I have ever listened to, the detail of the landscape is enough to make you believe you are there. There are moments that might bring a tear to your eye it certainly did mine but then I might be soft, enjoy I know I did and the narrator is great 👍 ❤️
