Summary
A riveting true-life story of hope, gratitude, and healing. Honey Out of Carcass is an absorbing and factual narrative hinged on the author’s recollection of certain arduous experiences whose aftermath could either heighten or dissipate her faith. The author pinpoints notable encounters which influenced her marital choice as background to the crux of an account detailing how her trust in God survived the physical and mental exhaustion of yearning for the survival of an ailing son. Incredible story of faith and resilience!
I listened to this book on the recommendation of a friend. For someone who has read many books over the years written by Christian authors on the topic of faith, I am guilty of approaching this book with a slightly opinionated mind-set.
However, it didn't take long before Onyinye's story of faith and how she got through a very traumatic period of her life as a parent of a special needs child humbled me and made me reflect on my own relationship with God.
She begins by providing the necessary foundation for the reader to understand how faith in God became central to her life. It was this faith and unwavering trust in God that later became an anchor in the midst of her storm.
Narrated beautifully by Osadumebi. I struggle to stay engaged on audio books where the narrator doesn't do a convincing job in expressing cultural terms, names and norms. Osadumebi did an excellent job.
Worth a listen if you're struggling with your faith and need a boost or a fresh understanding of God's sovereignty.
