Summary
A people without a history is a people without a soul. Knowledge of the past, which is known as history, leads people into a brighter future. On the contrary, negligence or rejection of the past reduces the scope of our present thoughts which could jeopardize the future of whatever society. History is a gift of the elders to forthcoming generations who should learn from it so as to have a better future.
This is why I set for myself a long-term goal of documenting everything about the Parish in a book produced and distributed widely as a "one-stop" source of information. This attempt at writing a history of a community that has evolved from an English-Speaking Church Group (ESCG) through to St Joseph Parish (SJP) aims at putting the facts straight, and as early as possible, while some of the original and primary actors are still present. In this way, it is easier to avoid confusion and distortion of facts or even the introduction of fallacies. This book can thus serve as reference on matters of this topic in this Parish and in newly created Parishes.
