About this listen
He needs someone to work with his son. She needs a job. They need to keep their hands to themselves.
Welcome to Seattle, the Emerald City and home to The Single Dads of Seattle. Ten sexy single fathers who play poker every Saturday night, have each other's backs, love their children without quarter, and hope to one day find love again.
This is Mark's story....
Single dad of Seattle Dr. Mark Herron can't believe anyone would celebrate their divorce. The dissolution of his marriage left him and his son with a huge hole to fill in their home - and their hearts. So when he overhears a lovely stranger and her friends celebrating the end of her marriage, he's mystified - and then intrigued - by her determination to put the past behind her. But when he learns that Tori Jones needs a job, he knows this can't be a coincidence.
Tori might be telling the world nothing's got her down, but the truth is she's hit rock bottom. Her husband didn't just cheat on her, he took all her money, including her college fund, which means her marriage is over, and so is her dream to go to grad school and help children with special needs. So when a handsome stranger offers her a job caring for his special needs son, she knows she can't turn it down...
Even if what she's feeling for Mark is far from professional.
Now Mark's finding it hard to keep his hands to himself, and Tori's struggling to keep her thoughts from straying to dangerous territory. Will they be able to keep their distance from each other, or will being hired by the sexy single dad be Tori's biggest problem of all?
Note: This book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. It includes lots of steamy scenes, cursing, and, of course, as with all my books, this has an HEA and no cliff-hanger or cheating. If you like single dads who take charge, this book is for you.

My Thoughts on Hired by the Single Dad
A great kickoff to a new series about single dads supporting each other.
I really enjoyed this one. Both main characters were really likable as well as the child that brought them together. I especially have a soft spot for children on the spectrum and liked how this one was done. I liked the general flow of the story and the ending was really sweet. I did feel that their big conflict was one that could have been avoided with better communication, but I also feel that given the special circumstances I could kind of see why the talking didn’t happen when it should have. But even with that, I wouldn’t hesitate to try another book from this author.
One really big plus was the narrators. Allyson Voller and Zachary Johnson were both exceptional and I’m really happy that I got to experience some newer narrators paired with a different author. It further proves to me that I liked their performance and not just the story. I hope to hear more from both of them in future.

cute story
i like that the story included real life issues, divorces, autism, cheating, single dad's struggles.. but despite being a very cute story, it was a tad predictable. i still enjoyed it and i am looking forward to read the stories of mark's friends in the next books. now talking about the narration, i think Zachary was fantastic. the 1st chapter alone made me laugh out loud all the way through. he was hilarious. Allyson has a very sweet voice and she is good in dialogues, but she gets a bit mechanical sometimes in the rest of the narration.

Great single Dad romance
Mark was attracted to Tori the minute his eyes landed on her when she was out with friends celebrating her separation from her cheating ex. She told him she worked with children with ASD and he told her his friend was looking for someone for his son but he lied and it was Mark who was looking for someone. The chemistry between them was there from the start and when they gave in to it sparks flew then things happened and Mark fired her saying some awful things to her. Can Tori forgive all the things he said to her in anger or will she tell him to get lost.

Hired by the Single Dad
What a perfect romance. Falling in love with your boss is definitely not what is supposed to happen but luckily the boss feels the same way. And when you add a child into the mix it just makes a perfect story to listen to. I loved all the characters in this book and the way it was written flowed beautifully.

4.5 Stars
I received this audiobook via a promo code from The Flock at my request and this is my voluntary review.
My first read by Whitley Cox and I really enjoyed it. Book One focuses on Dr. Mark Herron as the first dad of the Single Dads of Seattle series. His adorable son Gabe is on the autistic spectrum and needs a specialist therapist to help him at school, which works out well for the hot girl he's just met at a fancy bar celebrating her upcoming divorce. Tori Jones thought her world had hit rock bottom but it appears that her cheating husband might just have pushed her into the arms of her future and towards the family she always wanted, a sexy, single dad with an absolutely adorable kid?
This is my second book with this combination of narrators Allyson Voller, Zachary Johnson as Tori and Mark's dual POV was very enjoyable and I look forward to enjoying more in the series.

beautiful and poignant
This was a single dad's romance and I have to say, I'm looking forward to the other books in this series because I really enjoyed this one and loved the supporting cast of other single fathers. I really loved Tori- although she had a bad run, her patience and love for Gabe, a child with autism, leapt off the page. She was a fantastic heroine. Mark was also a fantastic father. There were some really heartbreaking and heartwarming moments between the adults and the child and I teared up a lot of times.
i listened to the audiobook and Allyson Voller and Zachary Johnson were great! They really got into the story and their reading allowed me to get fully immersed in the story.
