Scary!
Well, this is very different to J D Kirk's usual police procedural books, but it is a fabulous thriller set in the world of AI and I listened to it in one day! The story pulled me in straight away and it was so tense it had me on the edge of my seat. I don't know much about AI but I found it all very scary. There are lots of twists and just as I thought I had it all figured out Mr Kirk turned everything on it's head leaving me reeling!
Kudos to the two narrators, Louise Brealey and the fabulous David Tennant.who brought the book to life.

What is there to dislike about a JD Kirk book.
Absolutely nothing.
I loved the narration
It was everything that’s makes JD Kirk standout from the rest

Fantastic book!
Very different to anything from Kirk before. Utterly addictive and highly recommended. I couldn’t put it down. More please JD Kirk!

Held your interest all the time
Firstly this is not my usual genre - but I like JD KIRK love Neil tennant so thought why not give it a go .
Right from the start it just draws you in and was thought provoking at times , there’s a glint of humour too .
I throughly enjoyed this - highly recommend

Edge of your seat stuff
I loved this book the story dragged you in from the beginning. The narrators did a fabulous job. Parts had me so on edge I had to stop make a brew then go back to it. The twists and turns had me engaged all through right till the very end. Highly recommend keep it up J D Kirk, fabulous.

A Modern Horror story
I don't know what I was expecting from JD Kirk, but this was a real surprise. Something quite different.
The narrative moves along at a good pace with such a good idea that encapsulates all our fears about AI. A modern horror story but without the gore. There are some parts that are really moving and uncomfortable as well as being an exciting (occasionally horrifying) thriller. Loved it.

What a ride!
Absolutely loved this! The story kept me on the edge of my seat- loved the use of AI as the basis.
Had to stop a couple of times as I was so anxious but I couldn’t leave it for long as I needed to know what was going to happen and couldn’t leave the characters hanging!
All made even more perfect with the fabulous narration.

Menacing
Something very different from JD Kirk. The story of an AI app and software being created and being manipulated and abused is a very reality in this day and age.
Both characters are very believable in their roles, the story is fabulously strong with twists you don't see coming.
I have to admit at feeling the ending is somewhat anticlimactic after such a strong performance.
All in all a very strong thought provoking story from JD Kirk, a world away from Logan and Hoon, and therefore cannot be compared.
