About this listen
Drive to live, ride to die. On the dusty highways of the near future, Mark and Caitlin go on a camping trip with several other college kids, though what starts as a vacation swiftly becomes a nightmare, as they are assaulted by members of the Royal Barons, a violent road gang. The Barons are living out the Grail Quest of Arthurian legend across the backroads and lonely highways of this land, looting and murdering everyone who crosses their path. Caitlin is kidnapped and at the mercy of their depraved leader, while Mark, left for dead, finds himself in the company of a gunslinging stranger hellbent on getting revenge from behind the wheel of her muscle car. The hunt is on. A high-octane tale of violence and horror on the merciless highway.

Any additional comments?
It's the classic highway horror, companions travelling far from home and help, accosted on the road by crazies intent on doing harm. But these are no ordinary madmen. They have a mission, one which has existed for a thousand years - and there can be no help as King James and his followers follow their unholy dream.
Fast, furious and gory, the book is well written, sometimes surprising and, yes, even funny at times in it's imagery. Narrator, Persephone Rose gives a very spirited performance, reading with full emotional impact and giving vibrantly original voicings to each and every character, increasing the visual aspect of the gruesome tale.
Not one for the fainthearted, especially if listening on a long journey along empty and unknown routes. My thanks to the rights holder who freely gifted me a copy of Highway Gods, via Audiobook Boom. It was an interestingly different take on the journey into unknown zones. Perfect for horror fans who like that little bit extra ...
