Summary
One moon stand gone very, very wrong....
Magnus: All right, all right, I’ll admit I’ve always been a player in more ways than one. What can I say? Human women love to cheer for me—on the rugby field and in my hotel room after my team, the Edinburgh Rovers, has won.
But my player days are coming to an end. I need an heir—and fast—if I want to hang on to my title as king of the Scottish Wolves. I’ve already decided Tara Hamilton, my new sister-in-law’s best friend, will become my lucky queen. Just one snag in my plan, though...she feckin’ hates me.
All hope seems lost until I “happen” to run into her on a full moon night.
Tara: I have zero desire to serve as an incubator for that ridiculously arrogant Scottish alpha king, Magnus Scotswolf...or have anything to do with his backwater kingdom village.
Listen, I value three things above all else: my freedom, my life among humans in Edinburgh, and my fabulous wardrobe. No way am I giving all that up for an entitled a-hole with a kilometer-long hit-it-and-quit-it list.
My human understands I will never, ever let the annoyingly handsome alpha anywhere near me. But there’s just one snag...my wolf hooked up with his wolf during the last full moon when neither of our humans were looking.
Now...I’m pregnant with the Scottish king’s baby. What will he do when he finds out I’m carrying his bairn...and discovers the huge secret about my hidden past?

Plenty of laughs and ok narration
In general, I enjoyed this story. Magnus, the werewolf king (best name ever- so fitting) meets and falls for Tara who wants nothing to do with him, as she is against love, feeling like love is oppressive. There is plenty of chemistry but the story was campy at times and I have to admit, listening to the audiobook, the narration by Lacy Laurel was at times, very grating. Paired with Will Watts, who had the most glorious voice and accent and it was even more obvious that Lacy couldn't carry the accent. It ended up taking away a little from the story.
The story itself was fun and funny, with plenty of push and pull between the main characters and a well developed, interesting world that felt pretty original, given the idea of a rugby star being the king of the Scottish Wolves.

It was ok
Her Scottish King is the 2nd book in the Scottish Wolves series, and this is Tara and Magnus's story. We would have met these two in book 1, and I was excited for their story, although I will admit it was not what I expected. They were both strong, stubborn characters who clashed at every turn from the minute they met, so I was interested to see them navigate their relationship in light of the fact that they were of two different minds.
Unfortunately, I did not understand Tara. She made such a fuss about insisting on her independence, and I felt she folded very easily and became an entirely different character from how she was previously portrayed. However, the story did have some unexpected twists and the end of the story was interesting with an unexpected cliffhanger ending that left me wanting more.
I listened to the audiobook version of this story, which was narrated by Lacy Laurel and Will Watt. It was a bit difficult for me to understand what was being said at first, but I eventually got used to the accent, although I will admit it wasn't my favorite.

Scottish King
The first book I liked a bit more.
But I enjoyed the banter between Tara and Magnus and how Tara stands up against the Scottish king.
They fit better togehter, then it seems.
A cute couple and a good story!

Entertaining!
This is the second book in the Scottish Wolves Series. Magnus and Tara's story is fast-paced, steamy, funny, and entertaining. The characters are well developed. I liked the humor in the story. Lacy Laurel and Will Watt did a great job bringing this story to life. Looking forward to more in the series.

Hilarious!
I really enjoyed this book. It was funny and I enjoyed how the MC’s relationship developed, I didn’t see the twist coming and it definitely threw me for a loop. I love Theodora Taylor’s writing and I loved reading this werewolf romance with a twist!
