Sweet Historical Romance

Sweet Historical Romance

I enjoyed this retelling of Cinderella. There were many things different about the story, while still holding to the key elements. I enjoyed the narration. Being an American, I especially loved her "British" (although I'm not sure if that's what it is) accent. (I don't know enough of the Old World to know where this story takes place.)

A great Cinderella retelling

I absolutely loved this story and my favorite part is when the step mother and the twins get what’s due them. Let’s go back to the beginning though, Rose is a papa‘s favorite child only because she’s a sweet loving which is the total opposite of her brother and sister he has with the stepmother. The stepmother is cruel and taunts Rose it teaches the twins to do the same. When her papa gets ill she is the only one he wants with him. The stepmom and twins don’t even act like they’re upset. Rose is left to live a tormented life and is treated worse than the servant who she now has to live with in the tiny attic room. One day when the letter comes saying a gentleman is coming from America and wants to pay his respects and what he feels he owes roses papa for believing in him and staking his trip to America with the letter open introduction and it changed his whole life and so therefore he wants to pay roses papa back. Upon hearing this the stepmom starts to scream and once he shows up and makes his intentions clear she encourages the step daughter to bed arise at him and get him interesting in Marion and stepson to get him to go into business. At first although he thinks them a bit weird he also thinks them a bit harmless but wonders where is this girl Rose his benefactor would always talk about, but little does he know she’s stuck in the attic. They will meet though and when they do all bets are off and the tide starts the turn. This book was so good I highly recommend that I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to listen to more books from this author I thought the narrator did a great job.

Boring tale.

This was more like a fairy tale, very simple, predictable and with the expected happy ending. The narration was sickly sweet and uninspiring.
