About this listen
Domestic harmony is once again disrupted at the villa, this time by one of the Duke’s ex-lovers—the Comtesse Duras-Valfons, claiming Roxton is the father of her infant son, which is supported by the Salvan ancient aunts.
Intent on causing mischief for Her Duke, they also hope to embarrass the Duchess by dragging her into the scandal. Every French noble may be aware of the Comtesse’s shocking claim as to the paternity of her infant son. Everyone that is, except the Duchess. When she learns the truth, Antonia deals with the family drama in her own inimitable style.

Loved it.
Well, Lucinda Brant has done it again, she has written yet another book more than worthy of a 5-star rating. Being book 3 in a series, you need to read the other books before this one to know the characters and their situation fully. I have loved Renard, The Duke of Roxton and his lovely wife, Antonia since the very first book. With each following book, I have loved them even more, although I didn't think that could be possible! Other wonderful characters are Martin Ellicot and Lord Vallentine, both of them have brought a smile to my face. All of the characters in this book are written so perfectly that you will love some and dislike others.
In this book, as you will have seen if you read the synopsis there is excitement and intrigue to be had. Roxton could be the father of a baby belonging to his ex-mistress. Some Salvan family members want to humiliate Antonia, and there are others who seek help from her. It all makes a remarkable story that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.
I know I say this with all of my reviews for this author, but in case it's the first one you have read, it won't hurt to say it again...The amount of research that obviously goes into these books is obvious. From the telling of the places to the description of the clothes and hairstyles, everything is in detail. It is very easy to picture everything described and really be able to imagine yourself in the midst of the scenes. In fact, I think this series would be perfect as a movie or television series, one even better than Bridgerton unless of course the book is slaughtered in translation to a script, in which case I would be fuming!
The next best thing to having the book made into a film/series is being able to listen to the marvellous Mary Jane Wells narrating it. Her interpretation of the characters is fabulous. Each voice she performs is entirely different to another, and she really brings the story to life.

Loved it
Loved every second. Can't get enough of the Duke and his Duchess. Renard is to die for and she's a darling.
The narrator was very good.
Now on to the next one to continue their lovely life.
