About this listen
After millennia had passed, Mankind discovered the Heechee legacy (an alien culture that fled to the relative safety of a black hole) - in particular an asteroid stocked with autonavigating spacecraft. Robinette Broadhead, who had led the expedition that unlocked the many secrets of Heechee technology, is now forced once more to make a perilous voyage into space - where the Heechee are waiting. And this time the future of Man is at stake....

Another Great Addition to The Gateway Universe
Would you consider the audio edition of Heechee Rendezvous to be better than the print version?
Definitely. A really good narrator can help to bring a book alive for me.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Robin. I like his character because he is so 3-dimensional and a tortured soul.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
I enjoyed teh progression of the story and the evolving characters.

Boring waste of time
Just as boring, as the book (which I also read - a loong time ago). A gazillionaire winer with self pity intent on destroying himself. Why would that be a good story? It's long winded, and quickly becomes extremely boring. Sentences spotty at best, meanings broken by side show thoughts only to be continued some time later, concentrating on an disturbed ego of little plausibility stretching into no interest.
Bah... total waste of time.
If the story was cut down to an hour of meaningful episodes or so, it could have been interesting.
It feels just like the original book. An author forced to deliver a set number of words, irrespective of lack of meaningful content.
Bah... total waste of time.
The narrator cannot be blamed for missing content.

Not a big fan
I was enchanted when I read Gateway. But this book doesn't feel like it matches the tone, atmosphere, or story of the original. It felt like the disappointment you're in for when picking up Children of Dune after you've just read Dune.
I also must say that, despite liking the voice of the narrator, I'm not a fan of his overly dramatic intonation in very un-dramatic scenes.

not a good part of a series
Very good narator but the story is hopelessly boring compared to the previous two books.
