About this listen
Krystina Cole was a girl on a mission. She had big dreams and aspirations, none of which included a man by her side. She knew better than that - at least until she met Alexander Stone, the New York billionaire real estate tycoon. She saw the way that he looked at her, and the dark promises in his eyes. She was curious about his world and all that it entailed. But the shadows of her past haunted her, making her afraid to explore possibilities that she could never before have imagined....
Alexander Stone was a man who knew how to get what he wanted. He understood the value of finesse, and the importance of patience and diligence to achieve the desired result. He was successful and wealthy, relying on his naturally sharp instincts to guide him through life. But a chance run-in with Krystina Cole quickly turned his world upside down. Her quick wit and firecracker attitude was the complete opposite of what he wanted in a woman, and his instincts failed him at every turn....
However, both Krystina and Alexander are clinging to the secrets of their past, and neither of them are willing to compromise. Krystina's hardened heart makes emotional surrender a hard limit. But for Alexander, revealing his past could have devastating results. Visit www.dakotawillink.com.

A good story
Heart of Stone Audio Book by Dakota Willink is volume one in The Stone Series. I enjoyed the idea of this book however I do think it could have been executed a little better. As I was listening to it I found myself engaged and enjoying it but afterwards it felt like there hadn’t been much detail in it. By the time the book was over it didn’t feel like there had been too much development and that it had all happened in a very short amount of time.
I also didn’t connect with the characters too well, although I am interested enough to see what happens in the next book.
Overall I did enjoy the story though. It caught my attention in the moment and it is the first book that I have listened to with two narrators. Although that took a little getting used to once I had I thought it really added to the story. This is a good book and I am looking forward to the next one.

50 Shades of Better!
This was amazing. I loved this, I only found a few issues, but that was merely something on my part, not the authors or the narrators, if you were left feeling disappointed by 50 Shades of Grey then give this a go.
At first all I could do was compare with FSOG but once I got past that, I couldnt stop listening and loved it.
I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher, and/or narrator

Alexander & Krystina - Book 1
I’m a huge fan of Dakota’s work so I’ve been looking forward to listening to this book for some time.
This is a great book, full of angst and mystery around both character’s past but you can feel the chemistry that connects them.
Unfortunately I’m not a massive fan of Lacy Laurel’s narration. I’m hopeful for the next book though.

Narrator
The narrator to this story is dreadful. So so bad, I’ve tried to return but can’t 😢. The story is ok, I’m only up to chapter 1.

Slow.
I couldn't finish this story... I really tried but I found the writing to be Immature and the story line unrealistic and lacking. the female narrator seemed robotic (I'm unsure if this is due to the way it has been written) the male has a nice tone but again seemed robotic.

Very similar to the Grey series
I also liked the idea of the book but was not keen on the narrators. I found it hard to finish. I found it very close to the Grey series.

I couldn't listen to the reader
I thought the reader was bad at acting out the story. So I don't know what the story was about

Plagiarism read badly
Plot clearly based on Shades of Grey, I found it unimaginative and read in a monotonous tone.
