Summary
After a failed marriage, Kelly Winters moves to the strange Californian coastal town of Haven to join her younger brother, expecting nothing more than a quiet life, new beginnings, and perhaps a little love. Instead, she enters a world of magic and murder. Not only does she learn she's a witch and has a powerful destiny linked to her long-lost parents, but she soon discovers the quaint town is full of secrets, lies, and an underlying darkness.
As the sun rises and the body of a local scuba instructor is pulled from the ocean, Kelly finds herself drawn into a dangerous murder mystery that will challenge everything she believes about herself, the town, and her family's history.
With the clock ticking and a killer on the loose, Kelly must risk everything in order to stop the darkness from taking hold of another innocent life. Now, if she can just get a handle on these new powers, her brothers antics, her batty aunt Barb, and a hot surfer with eyes for her, things might just work out.

It is really funny!!!
Any additional comments?
What I did not expect in this book was how funny it was. I think some people must have thought I was nuts after I laughed out loud in public. I loved her characters, especially Kelly. However, I have to say that I know who did it quite quickly so the mystery was not as good but that is not what made me listen to the whole thing. As I said I loved some of her characters and I thought it was really funny.
I would highly recommend it to all since there is no profanity/violence/sexual content (except for some references).
I wouldn't mind reading the others in this series if it is anything like this book.
The narrator was great, she voiced all the characters and gave them their personal personality.

Emma Watts have written an amazing 4 hours audiobook which would have taken over 10 hours to any other author, she have done the impossible and have done it beautifully.
Natalie Naudus completed it with a perfect narration!

Haven is no sleepy little town
This is the first book by this author that I have read or listened too but it won't be the last, in fact I have already download book two. I really enjoyed it because I liked the characters and all the secrets surrounding the main character's mother. The mystery was good with plenty of suspects and magic to help solve the murder.
Kelly moves in with her very rich brother after losing her job and divorcing her husband. But the little sleepy town is anything but sleepy and as Kelly is quickly learning it holds a past that is connected to her own mother. The town was cursed and with every murder that goes unsolved it brings the world closer to destruction. A fight that it seems Kelly's mum was apart of stopping and now with Kelly back in town the burden falls onto Kelly's shoulders. The problem is Kelly didn't know she was a witch and with Ivy, herself appointed mentor only dishing out information as she sees fit, Kelly has her work cut out for when she investigates her very first murder, the murder of a dive instructor.
I liked the narrator as she used different voices for each character making it a nice easy listen.
