Summary

Fiona Quinn arrives at her parent’s home in Daytona, Florida for a short visit only to be informed that their usually quiet retirement community has been besieged with robberies - cash, jewelry, and more. Her mom told all the neighbors Fiona is a wiz at catching bad guys.

Yikes!

Can Fiona crack the case? Hopefully, but what’s an amateur sleuth supposed to do when her Maltese, Harriet, shows up decked out in the stolen goods?

Double yikes!

Join Fiona, her parents, Harriet, and some pretty crazy old ladies for a real jewel of a quick mystery!

Wonderful!

A sweet and enjoyable story that contains the things we love about Fiona. I wish CS McDonald would consider placing several of these wonderful short stories in an anthology. I was just settling in to Fiona’s world and enjoying it greatly when the story came to an end! I would have loved to hear several of them together to get my full “Fiona fix”. Not much of Nathan this time; I’m with Mrs. Quinn - that pair need to get a move on! I loved hearing from Fiona’s parents - it is a beautifully written and hilarious natural-sounding relationship -not to mention Harriet’s short excursion into crime which was wonderful.
Maren Swenson Waxenberg did a fabulous job as usual. For me she is the perfect narrator for these stories.

Fav Series

Fiona is back and visiting her family in Florida along with her side kick pup Harriet.

Lemon meringue pie, yum yum yum this stuck on my mind all the way through listening. What a way to give a listener a craving. I thought it was cute how everyone kept mentioning and swooning over Fiona’s FBI boyfriend.

I couldn’t picture Detective buttons being anything but a rabbit even though he was actually a human the name just tickled me so much. The narrator makes this Fun story so engaging. This cosy Mystery sparks your mind to want to put the pieces together to solve it before the revelation. Who? and how? Finding out the suspects was suspenseful for such a short audio. The build up of a robbery at the Retirement village was a great way to start the suspense motioning.

It was worrying what Harriet and Fiona’s mums other pup was missing I got a little sad but was so glad that they both returned safely. I though Fiona’s mum was nuts and the other women (her friends) were crazy with their use of mace and mischievous 3am antics.

I loved the build up to the different types of suspects I loved at one point I actually thought it might have been one of the dogs.

Overall it’s really Fun and exciting, even though its aimed for Cindys grandchildren age group I really enjoyed this. I’ve read a few books by this author so was really lovely taking a different approach and listening.
