About this listen
That terrible event Elizabeth and her family has ever dreaded has come to pass and brought with it changes which none of them could have anticipated. Faced with navigating a whole new world with whole new advantages, are they up to the task? Collecting marriage proposals like handkerchiefs, Elizabeth wonders if she might have spurned her one chance at lasting happiness when she learns that Mr Darcy is not at all who she believed him to be.
Darcy is tired of fighting his feelings. His heart knows what it wants, and that is Elizabeth Bennet. When he learns that Mr. Bennet has passed away, he imagines riding in as the white knight, a savior come to rescue his beloved from a life of poverty. But when he reaches Hertfordshire, something is amiss and he finds that Elizabeth needs no rescuing, thank you very much.

Lovely romance
I enjoyed this story with the Bennet’s raised in standing and income. Jane was very different and I enjoyed all the sisters improving themselves. Darcy and Lizzy’s romance felt quite short. The narration was good.

A most interesting variation.
Narrator was excellent but I didn't like Darcy's voice, it was too forced and unnaturally deep.

A fun, fairly low angst variation
Interesting premise that the Bennets become rich. Darcy learns the error of his ways. Wickham is still a scoundrel. I particularly liked the development of Mrs Bennet. The narrator was good and does the best, most annoying Caroline Bingley voice I have EVER heard!

Disappointing, but not completely dreadful
Interesting plot twist underpinning the variation, but otherwise rather shallow writing and felt more like a Mills and Boon than an Austen. Narrator was not the worst, but definitely not in the league of Stevie Zimmerman or Harry Frost. Generally I listen to P&P variants over and over, but I don’t think I’ll be listening again to this one.

A weak example of this genre
I'm sorry to say that this variation is not well written. The dialogue is dull and there is far too much long-winded internal reflection that makes these well-loved characters appear sentimental and a pale reflection of the sparkling originals. The premise for the story had a lot of potential that remained undeveloped and many of the descriptions were cliched. I like the narrator's voice, but the presentation was over-dramatic at times.
