About this listen

Robert the Bruce, scion of one of the most noble houses in Scotland, is propelled into rebellion by the "Hammer of the Scots". Edward Plantagenet, king of England, who uses Scotland's inherently unstable clan system to seize power and claim the disunited country as his own.

Since Netflix has produced a movie for a 2018 release entitled Outlaw King, and the nature of a movie is necessarily time-limited, this audio rendition and the books in the Rebel King series (named by us in the 1990s) that greatly expands the story and explores this famous warrior king of the early 1300s who took his enslaved country back from their English oppressors.

The material covered is considered historical fiction, as we did follow the historical records but then we added a bare sprinkling of fictional characters and since we knew nothing that was said in those days, the dialogue has been written to drive the events, to develop the various characters, and progress the arc of the story.

The events themselves make a magnificent story about the people. It is about love, hate, and all the in-between emotions and proclivities. The story is full of action and medieval war battles. It is a part of history about the actual times and the actual people who drove the events into the history books. Listen to the life that was not Hollywood templated that was read here by Roger L. Jackson, a movie voice you no doubt have heard before and other professionals of the highest quality available who brought this production together for you.

Thank you.
