Distracting Horror

The novel adds some meat to the bones of the story told in the movie. The let down is the narration-the narrator has a prominent lisp which is a real distraction throughout the story and takes you out of it constantly.

The end

Having not seen the movies, but listened to the other audiobooks in the trilogy, I am sure that this presentation adds plenty that wasn't possible to include in the movies.
There's something missing though, it could be the narrator or maybe just the story. It's certainly not the gripping climax the story deserves.

Enjoyable, Adds scenes/scenarios the film deleted.

A great listen.
Lots of addition character development, with added scenes and kills not seen on the big screen.

Recommended for any fans of the franchise.

Quick Review

This is a review in progress….the start of this story has new information that isn’t in the movie and I’ve heard other added stuff that wasn’t in the movie either. It’s flowing a bit quicker too. Will update review once finished. Give it a go if you enjoyed the first 2 parts of the trilogy. Oh and the narration is good enough too Update : More characters included in different scenes but only for a chapter each it seems. The end was hmmm weird. Did I enjoy it…yes but it could’ve been much better, Will I listen to it again ? Possibly but I’d prefer the first 2 of the trilogy. I will only keep this as it’s part of the trilogy instead of deleting it.

A solid novelisation for fans of the DGG trilogy

A great adaptation of the screenplay with lots of extra scenes and added depth. The ending differs from the film but I liked it a lot.

Just ok

Enjoyed the more details and back story provided in this book. Narrator wasn’t able to hold my attention and became irritating. I wouldn’t recommend this book compared to others in trilogy but this could be because of my disappointment in the movie storyline

No way, just no!

I’ve been so excited about this since Kills came out last year, or even since the trilogy started in 2018! I pre-ordered it on Kindle back in April! I’m very sorry to say, today when the release date finally came, I was left feeling so sad and very disappointed. If this is the end, it’s a terrible anti-climax. The novel only had 2 quotes that I really liked. “Imagine if Laurie and Michael Myers had fallen in love and were together, can you imagine?” and “Alexa, music off.” That’s it. Also the stupid theory that Laurie rejected Michael’s advances until he snapped. Great food for us Fanfiction writers though! I want to be careful writing this for two reasons Firstly so as not to spoil it for you reading this, or considering doing so, second however, so it doesn't descend into a rant. Firstly, for the last 40 years, it's been Michael Myers, and Michael Myers only. You can't just bring a new protagonist in to replace him like that! The ending just left me speechless. After all Laurie went through, there is no way she would even consider that! After everything since 1978, her whole shut down due to fear and her house modifications? You're kidding me! I think this was a case of Michael killed everyone in Halloween kills, so there was no one left and the directors had to work with what they had, as well as introducing new characters. Now I'm all for new characters, but for them to dominate the plot like that? All we saw was a controlling mother, and a pointless love story. Alison to me, slipped back into naive teenager mode. Laurie's memoirs were interesting, which made the end even more unbelievable. Michael Myers will always be my favourite horror character and after this I'm disgusted! Michael Myers, we love you. Just some advice, if you want to remember Michael Myers as he should be, I really wouldn't read this book! I am not going to see the film of this… left a bad taste in my mouth. Sorry Green, total failure here.
The only positive was Lynda Jones, great job with what you had to read, thanks! You at least enabled me to get to the end with your brilliant narration.

Just bad

The movie sucks, and this book is only slightly better. The narrator sounds like a female Daffy Duck and I just couldn’t finish it. Terrible end to a great franchise.
