Summary
Part one of the best-selling five-part serial.
When Keegan finally gets away from his brutal mother on his 16th birthday, things go from bad to strange as his father picks up a hitchhiker in the desert during their escape.
The strangeness of the day gets scary as Keegan notices the hitchhiker's odd behavior. But with Keegan's failing memory and bizarre dreams of a red wind, he can't be sure about what his father's gotten them in to as they make their way to the creepy Arizona town of Sedonia Falls.
This is the first episode of a five-part serial.

A gripping tale!
This story is remarkable! The author hooks the reader right from the start; jumping right into the action, and keeps their attention throughout the book. My favourite aspect is the way Jax manages to tap into the main character Keegan's thoughts so brilliantly. You empathise for him within the first few pages, and root for him all he way through. I felt desperate for Keegan to find happiness and lead a normal life with his dad. This seems doubtful however, judging from the mystery and unnerving atmosphere of the bizarre place they end up. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series to find out what happens to Keegan and his dad.
I definitely recommend this book for anyone who wants a thrilling, mysterious tale, with extremely 3D, believable characters.
