I was originally excited...
I'm not the kind to give any type of negative reviews but this needed saying and bringing to the creator's (and future listeners') attention. x
When I purchased this title I was hopeful and I went into it with an open mind. I am disappointed and confused as to why the author is also not the narrator in this case with this book being on self-hypnosis - you would think the author would be the best person to walk you through these exercises. The narrators are good, though the going between voices on one recording is very disconcerting and unnerving during a session.
One of the biggest issues for me (and one that means I am currently debating on whether or not to return the title), was the instruction during the meditation, to pause and think on that for 2 minutes... What I was not expecting was for the recording to start back up immediately after a very brief pause. For a GUIDED MEDITATION, I would expect something like that to have been worked into the track, not left to the listener to do when they are already deep in meditation. This truly unsettled me for the rest of the recording AND lent to a poor night's sleep after it (I was expecting this recording to relax me before bed, not crank up my anxiety levels just before going to sleep). I HIGHLY recommend the creators go back and add the necessary pauses for silence in now, not leave it to the zoned-out listener to regulate themselves when all they should be doing is focussing on the sounds of the recording.
The content is great but these few issues need to be resolved before it can be as truly outstanding as it is possible for it to be.
