About this listen
A merciless wilderness. A harrowing attack. A desperate escape.
When a tragic accident sidelines Miley's dreams of Olympic gold, she takes a summer job at a mountain guest lodge. The Frank Church Wilderness is remote, but it's the perfect place to train and recover.
Local lore about a staffer who died years ago doesn't scare her. But it should.
Miley's plans take a terrifying detour when she's abducted during a morning run. Held captive in a desolate off-grid cabin, she'll have to use her athletic prowess, cunning mind, and courage to survive. As the nightmare at the cabin escalates, Miley is forced to form an unlikely alliance and attempt a risky escape.
Can she outwit her captors and survive the wilderness before it's too late?
Inspired by true events, Gray After Dark is a pulse-pounding psychological thriller with a finale that will leave you breathless.

Loved it! 4.5*
Really enjoyed this storyline, was paced well and liked that it flipped between Miley & Brett - would give it 4.5/5, only knocking 0.5 off as I just couldn’t seem to like Brett! He came across annoying and clingy to me and I wish I had liked his character more!

Totally gripping, highly recommend
This was my first experience of listening to an audio book as I love actually holding a book to read, but now I would happily listen to more audio books. This story had me gripped from the start and the change of voice for each character really enhanced the story, I had to increase the speed as I wanted to find out what happened quicker. The story was fast paced and the ending did not disappoint.

Suspense
A fantastic book. Although you do have to spend a bit of energy to ignore the red flags of the love interest. But the story and reading was great, couldn’t stop listening.

Gripping atmosphere of suspense
absolutely gripping and fantastic read that hooks you from the very first page. The author masterfully crafts an atmosphere of suspense, weaving together a chilling plot and deeply complex characters. The pacing is relentless, keeping you on edge and eagerly flipping pages to uncover the next twist.
However, as much as the story captivated me throughout, the ending felt rushed compared to the rest of the book. The resolution lacked the depth and detail that made the earlier chapters so engaging, leaving a few lingering questions and a sense that more could have been explored.
That said, the journey far outweighs the slight stumble at the finish line. If you’re looking for a thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
