About this listen
This is the first part of the life story of Michael James Hardisty. He enlisted in the Civil War at an early age and survived. He is witness to many of our historical events and relates them in his journals. Events such as the Transcontinental Railroad, the eradication of the American buffalo, the destruction of the American Indian, Gunfight at the OK Corral, Wright Brothers in Kitty Hawk, and many more. His journals relate the view of an idealistic youth then gradually matures to a cynical tongue-in-cheek humor.
Gramp's perspective on these historical events is not what we have been taught in school. His perspective is blunt and to the point; it is not glorified. Enjoy listening about these notable events from a different view.
