This narrator did quite a good job of holding my attention and giving each character a clear voice!👍
Nick comes home from working away to find a woman asleep on his sofa. It turns out that a throw-away agreement about needing a housekeeper was all his friend Emmy needed to employ to someone to sort his pigsty of a house out!🤣
Lana is down on her luck. She's fled her hometown after feelings of being followed, then unsafe in her flat. She has piles of medical debt, as she had done everything to save her mum from the cancer that eventually took her!💔 Now, she's in an awful apartment in a fairly dodgy area and in a new state where she didn't know anyone. She's managed to land a great housekeeping job, although it's hard work as it's like a house from 'hoaders' but in mansion form.🤦🏻♀️She first meets the owner at gunpoint and runs away while he's on the phone with Emmy, who hired her!
They fall into a friendship that steadily grows. Her abusive ex rears his head and one point, as does a stalker. We never really find out why he stalked her.🤷🏻♀️ It does have an hea after misunderstandings.💘
I felt this could've been grittier. I like this authors writing, but as I need to buy books and audiobooks because of my brain fog, I can't afford to continue with the series, sadly!😭
