Summary
“Please, no! Don't make me go back to the park. I can draw you a map. I promise I can show you where everything happened.”
The lone survivor trembled as she pleaded with investigators.
For over 40 years, the events of what happened at Gitchie Manitou the night of November 17, 1973, remained a mystery to all but a few. Then the lone survivor broke her silence. Five teenage friends had driven to the park to spend a few hours around a campfire. By morning, four had been murdered, and only she was still alive.
Gitchie Girl Uncovered is a chilling account of the strange twists and bizarre details discovered by an elite team of investigators under intense pressure to catch the killers. After spending hundreds of hours with the lone survivor, investigators, and family members of the slain boys, and by gaining access to court records, authors Phil and Sandy Hamman give the listener a what-will-happen-next inside story of the monstrous crime that shook the Midwest. They bring the listener into the deviant world of the brutal killers with an up-close look at how they think and operate.

Heartbreaking but hopeful in the end.
Heartbreaking but hopeful in the end. I’d never heard of this story and while a brief run time compared to other true crime nothing felt rushed or left out. No padding. All respectfully researched and presented fact.

fantastic
This woman is so brave to do what she did to not only get justice for the 4boys but for herself nobody made her feel better or that she was the only one who was going to dedicate her life for lifetime justice for the boys and it's very sad she was not supported by the town's people and it's those that should be ashamed all who made her life hell with pain over what had happened picked on her and made her feel bad and alone she says the boys are her hero but I'm sure she is their hero in return for her lifelong love of them to keep the men locked up...you are an angel of love and unselfish she can be proud of herself forever and always...great audiobook please find in your heart to listen and support

A gift of a book
I knew nothing about this case
Such a senseless and horrific crime against innocents.
Sandra is such an incentive to live life to the fullest ,and to stand by the truth
This book is written with such feeling and passion, and the narrator really helped to evoke the fear, terror and passion of the 5 victims.
Excellent stuff

A-Typical American. Too drawn out and repetitive
The narration is dull. There's a lack of natural flow. It jumps more than a record player in the entrance of a half price all you can eat special at a fast food restaurant.
It's dull, overly repetitive , far too long . I did not enjoy the narration, I didn't buy into the characters nor the story. I love true crime cases specifically those dealing with murder but I struggled with this. I think the constant reference to the Japanese sounsing unpronounceable name added to the irritation.
I know this is a terrible true story and I'm sure it was cathartic for the author and victim but somethings are best left to professional writers or not shared.
Sorry not for me and I know why it's included in the subscription. it's a 👎 NO from me (& a yawn 😴)
