About this listen

When terrorists use a drone to bring down a plane on one of London’s busiest shopping centres, it ignites a chain of events that will draw in the innocent and the guilty alike.

DC Max Wolfe finds himself caught in the crossfire between a tech-savvy terrorist cell and a revenge-seeking, Bible-quoting murderer called Bad Moses. And when Max’s ex-wife suddenly reappears to reclaim custody of his beloved daughter, he finds himself fighting the greatest battle of all....

Tony Parsons - a very gifted writer!!!

Deeply moving. Very real. A book which can be read on many levels. And the problem of immigration, racism, and "home grown terrorists", the clash of religions. The lack of Security and trained Law enforcement . To the personal dilemas which we all face. "Is it better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all?

Best crime series ever!!

Honestly the best series I've ever read or listened to, the main character is just everything you want to be as a man. The only slight negative point is that I found myself caring more about the personal aspects of this story rather than the plot, but as I said, hands down best series of books I've come across so far.

Superb reading by Colin Mace but that's standard for him.

Detective Constable Wolf

I find the stories in this series very listenable.
However, I don’t think Parsons quite understands the rank structure of the Met Police. The type of work Wolf undertakes, unsupervised, would not be carried out by a mere DC. This rank is the same level as a PC. He wouldn’t rub shoulders with higher ranks as he does. Certainly a uniform PC or PS (sergeant) would not call him ‘Sir’.
If Wolf was a DS or DI it would be more believable.

Please Mr Parsons may I have some more!

Really hated having to put this book down. Definitely the best of the DC Wolfe series. The interweaving of professional and private emotions made for compulsive listening.

Poignant and hard hitting

Tony Parsons mastery of emotion, meaning and hope in a harsh world of pain, hopelessness and hate is in full force in this exceptional novel. I couldn’t stop listening to the equally exceptional narrator who delivered Parson’s words with a depth and expression that fit perfectly.
