About this listen
Hamilton Speke is a successful playwright and composer - an extraordinary creative force. He lives and works on an estate south of San Francisco, secure in a woodland sanctuary where, to his surprise, he receives a visitor from his past, an old friend and former partner. Then everything changes. Speke's life of celebrity and vision is ruptured by bloodshed and insanity in a world where it's revealed that no one, and no career, is far from danger.

Slow going
A screenwriter styled as a new Cary Grant or George Clooney, very suave and old fashioned Hollywood, is riding high on the success of his broadway shows. He is just married and living on a huge estate, when an old partner appears, accusing him of plagarism. I'm deducting a star for a nasty rape scene at the beginning, it didn't need to be there or be so harsh.
