Summary

Frank Bowen attempts to piece together a fractured life at home but finds himself pulled back into the dark state once again. Only, this time, he’s playing both sides.

Hired by John Rhodes, founding father of the Liberatus movement, his mission is to escort a valuable asset to South America. Then the spectre of Carl Paterson emerges and Frank finds he has to work once again with his old agency, Ghost 13. Later, in the depths of the Colombian Darien Gap jungle - swarming with narcos, paramilitary groups and bandits - Frank finds death and evil wait around every corner in the most inhospitable place on earth. This is the third fast-paced thriller in the Frank Bowen series by Jay Tinsiano.

I had read and enjoyed this book before but listening to it really gave it an extra dimension. An excellent story from Jay very well narrated by Chris MacDonnell.

thriller

I loved the narration of Chris Macdonnell, perfect he brings out the action

This book is a very exciting, thriller, full of adrenaline action. Frank has people trying to kill him. He is hired to get a man from Europe to South America. It should be a fairly easy job. Full of suspense .

Drain the sea to kill the fish

After his family were almost killed because of his work, Frank Bowen's wife left with the children, no longer willing to be put at risk by what he did. So, to win them back, he gave up his covert undercover work, instead taking a boring but safe warehouse security job. But money is tight, he's found the perfect secluded family house to buy but is already being on his wife's house morgage. Does he risk his wife's anger by returning to his old world or lose what he'd already built because of financial need? But he had missed the adrenalin rush of last danger so agrees to babysit an asset from Europe to South America for old friend John Rhodes - and lots of money. But even before he gets started, Carl Patterson is also in touch, making his own demands on Frank.

Ghost Order, the third in the Frank Bowen series but completely stand alone, is frighteningly plausible with the murderous political unrest and criminal activities, in particular kidnap and drugs trafficking rife in Columbia and competition and conspiracy fracturing the secret services both in Europe and America. Very fast paced and exciting, Frank and his 'package' Nero, are attacked, captured, shot at and generally have a pretty rough time as they try to make it through to their destination, under the adverse conditions of inhospitable weather and surroundings. The book is very atmospheric, the discomfort tangible, characters well written and the plot relentlessly frightening. Chris MacDonnell's well performed narration holds it all together, reading with calm deliberation, never over the top, but resonant with tension.

My thanks to the rights holder of Ghost Order, who, at my request freely gifted me with a complimentary copy, via Audiobook Boom. It was an excellent thriller which I very much enjoyed, though it made me despair at the depths of human ambition and depravity. If you enjoy spy or adventure thrillers and tolerate vio?ence, this book is highly recommended
