Summary

When Lark Cavanaugh’s life in New York City falls apart, she’s left reeling from a staggering betrayal. She escapes to Cape Cod, where a distant relative has left her an old house with a tragic past. Rumors of a haunting presence plague the abandoned home, but Lark doesn’t believe in ghosts...until she has no choice.

After completing his military duty, veterinarian Jesse Holt returns to his small hometown to take over his father’s practice. He soon finds himself drawn to the alluring redhead now living next door, but she has made her intentions clear - she’s moving back to the city as soon as possible.

When frightening events threaten her safety, though, he can’t deny his protective instincts. Unable to fight their feelings, they give in to desire...but another battle looms. Lark’s arrival has awakened a decades-old mystery, and the truth of what happened at Holloway House will only be revealed when it claims yet another life.

Hauntingly romantic!

I love getting lost in a good ghost story and Kathryn Knight always delivers one! Lark is desperate. Homeless, jobless and now coming to claim an old family residence from her inheritance, she is hoping to sell and be able to start over. But that is not quite what she gets. Things that go bump in the night is an understatement. Even the cat is a little on edge. When the cat needs medical attention, Lark calls Jesse, the only vet in town. And he gets so much more than just a new client! Not afraid to dive into the craziness that has become Lark's home, the two are on a mission to find it's history. But will it have the answers? And as they become closer, will Lark change her plans? Fun! Fun! Fun! Just the right amount of suspense to keep my heart pumping and romance to make my heart sing. Loved this ghost story and can't wait to see what may appear next!

Kristin James delivers an incredible narration for this paranormal romance. Full of whispers and fear, she dials into the emotions of the house as well as Lark and Jesse! She pulled me in and held me captive until the very end! Fantastic listen!

Ghost Moon

This is my second, but not my last, read by Kathryn, and I absolutely loved it. It mashes a ghost story with a spicy romance, and it really works well.

Lark has moved into a haunted, inherited house. But from the off, there is something spooky going on. When her cat becomes ill, she rushes him to the emergency vet, Jesse, who turns out to be her neighbour. I loved the chemistry between them from the start.

I just loved that no matter how busy he was, he would always help. I enjoyed watching this atmospheric story play out as they try to discover who is behind the hauntings. The reveal was quite emotional to read.

Another great read, and I can't wait to discover more by this author.

Loved it!!

While this isn't a genre I normally explore, I am so glad I tried it because I absolutely loved it and will definitely be exploring more 'mild' mystery ghost stories.

Lark inherits a house in Cape Cod and seizes the opportunity to escape there for the summer, seeking solace after her life in NYC fell apart. Initially skeptical about the rumors of the house being haunted, she encounters a series of mysterious events as she settles in.

When Lark's cat, Preston, falls ill, she reaches out to the local veterinarian, Jesse, who turns out to be her neighbour. There's an instant connection between them, and a mutual fondness starts to grow.

As Lark grapples with the eerie mysteries and supernatural occurrences within the house, Jesse is determined to assist her. Together, they embark on a quest to uncover the secrets of Holloway House.

I was so engrossed in the plot, completely invested in the haunted mysteries of Holloway House. Lark and Jesse's characters felt authentic and relatable, and their chemistry so genuine. Kathryn's writing is exceptional, and it has given me a newfound appreciation for this genre. I'm so grateful she gifted me the audiobook, and I'm genuinely excited to read more of Kathryn's books!
