Summary

IS IT TIME TO TAKE A CHANCE ON THE GAME OF TRUE LOVE?

From the Sunday Times bestselling author of Just My Luck and Both Of You, this is a brilliantly perceptive novel of the game of love and not looking for Mr Right…

Steely-hearted TV producer Cas ruthlessly plays people on a daily basis.

She messes with contestants' love lives on the hot new reality show Sex with an Ex, making for explosive viewing. And she shamelessly manipulates hot men into bed – making for an explosive sex life.

In work and in pleasure, Cas always gets what she wants. Until she meets Darren.

His unbelievable good looks would make him a sensation on the show. But his moral integrity and belief in true love mean Cas will have to work a little bit harder to persuade him to give the show – and her – a shot.

After a lifetime of playing games, might her winning streak be at an end?

Praise for Game Over:

'Parks’s style is down to earth and very, very funny' OK!

'Perfectly encapsulating the zeitgeist of ever more ludicrous Reality TV shows, Game Over is a very entertaining read' Heat

‘A guilty pleasure … with such wit and verve’Entertainment Weekly

What Readers are Saying about Game Over:

'Full of love, sex, relationships, unrequited love with the added humour and characters everyone can relate to'

'A cut above anything of its kind. This is a hilarious, brilliant book with a great plot – don't miss out because you are bored with the same old boy meets girl scenario – this is something altogether grittier'

Easy, enjoyable, funny & sometimes cringey listen

Adele writes in a very frank & amusing way. In general I really enjoy her books and this one was no exception. Of course you could sort of predict where it was going but I find comfort in that & just enjoy listening to the "how" of getting there. Caz is deeply flawed & at times not hugely likeable but I think that is what makes Adele's characters feel so honest & relatable. It wasn't my absolute favourite of hers but I did engage and would recommend if you're a fan! Performance was good

Hard to get into

I found this one didn’t really grab my attention from the beginning. There wasn’t really much to the story except either. Only my second Adele Parks book and it was definitely not as good as the last secret. Will take more notice of reviews next time!

Genuinely surprised

I purchased this book because I enjoyed Just My Luck, by the same author.

This book is so full of clichés, I am genuinely surprised that it has been published.

The conversations were far from realistic, and I didn't buy any part of Cass and Josh.

I finished the book purely because it's in my nature not to abandon books part way through, but it took me an age to complete as I just didn't want to keep going back to it.

The narration was OK, but the accents were patchy at best.

horrible main character

I don't think I've ever read/listened to a book with a more vile main character. and the least believable ending. The narration was sooo slow I had to keep checking if I had somehow altered the speed it was playing at.
