About this listen
She was just a girl, standing in front of a boy…wishing he looked more like Hugh Grant. Scarlett loves the movies. But does she love sensible fiancé David just as much? With a big white wedding on the horizon, Scarlett really should have decided by now.… When she has the chance to house-sit in Notting Hill - the setting of one of her favourite movies - Scarlett jumps at the chance. But living life like a movie is trickier than it seems, especially when her new neighbour Sean is so irritating. And so irritatingly handsome, too. Scarlett soon finds herself starring in a romantic comedy of her very own. But who will end up as the leading man?

Wasn’t too sure at the start, but it pulled me in!!
I started this and wasn’t sure. I’m in my mid 40s and the characters seemed a bit too young for me. Also all seemed far fetched for a ‘real life’ novel. However I kept going and was so pleased I did. I actually cried at the ending. Once I let go of the unbelievableness and the frustration that she was with a dull stolid annoying man it was really good! I loved the premise and the way it played out. Although I was utterly disgusted with one of the twists! In this day and age….
I would probably recommend watching Notting Hill and Love, Actually before listening if you haven’t. I haven’t and missed some of the references and comparisons.

Easy listening
Great if you love romantic films. An easy and enjoyable listen. Predictable, but then isn't all romantic fiction. :-)

Very enjoyable
I love films and picked up the parts of the book that mentioned them. What a joy this book is I found myself shouting at Alexa . Easy listen, that you can really escape into. A book I'll listen to over and over. I'd recommend to people that love , movies. and love.

Cuddles and intrigue
I absolutely adored this book. It has left me with a lovely warm feeling of heartfelt romance, love at first sight and that everything happens for a reason. The plot moves along at a fast pace and I felt myself genuinely feeling for Scarlet as she tries hard to find her mother and to choose between her fiancé and new love interest.
It's clear from fairly early on that the best man for her is Sean, and you really want her to realise this. The film references and Scarlet's interest in living life as if she is in the films is also a treat.
If you want a great big warm hug of a book, with an endearing love story, then this book is for you.

loved it!
I enjoyed the book very much, I thought about my daughter saying every situation has a 'Friends' episode to cover it and that summed the ideas in the book up. I had also seen all the films that are mentioned and found that I was thinking about how life is like the movies!!! Good chick lit.
