About this listen
A rollicking fantasy-adventure by the master of children's speculative fiction.
Talking dogs. Mischievous wizards. An evil stepstepfather. Loads and loads of toads. Such is the life of a Frogkisser.
Princess Anya needs to see a wizard about a frog. It's not her frog; it's her sister's. And it's not a frog; it's actually a prince. A prince who was once in love with Anya's sister but has now been turned into a frog by their evil stepstepfather. And Anya has made a 'sister promise' that she will find a way to return Prince Denholm to human form....
So begins an exciting, hilarious, irreverent quest through the Kingdom of Trallonia and out the other side, in a fantastical tale for all ages, full of laughs and danger, surprises and delights, and an immense population of frogs.

Brilliant story for children and adults alike
Would you consider the audio edition of Frogkisser! to be better than the print version?
I have not read the book but loved it being read to me.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The Royal Dog who was just wonderful closely followed by the princess. Both of them were well thought out characters who were brought to life by the narrator and the author.
Which character – as performed by Marisa Calin – was your favourite?
All of them. I thought she read the book beautifully.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely

Good story, well read.
I'm possibly not the target audience this was written for at 59, but I loved it.

Entertaining and adventurous
I was amazed at the scope of this tale. A frog Prince story turned on its head with amazing characters, storyline and highly entertaining. I found it hard to put down most days and even ended up buying the book as well. An engaging set of characters that really helped you delve into the story. Sometimes things felt a little easy but at the same time kept things different. I love the take on druids.
I can’t imagine the horror of having to do a job for your sister because she is balling her eyes out over your step step father turning yet another prince into a frog. The chaos and adventure that ensued was funny and enthralling all at the same time. With a talking dog, a fed up princess and a talking transformed newt human it was full of wacky characters that really came into their own. A little predictable at times yet with interesting ideas and the occasional twist another great read from Garth Nix.

a fairytale with a difference
I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this or not, but did, I enjoy some fairytales that have a nice twist to them, rather than the normal ones, I especially like that it's a princess rescuing a prince and a few others. if you enjoy adventure stories then you will probably enjoy this.

Great tale spoiled by an awful narrator
I really struggled with listening to this book but stayed with it because I like the writing, the characters and the story. However, the narrator was just so irritating that I nearly abandoned ship a few times.
The problem was her 'attitude', she had a flippant...'Huh! Take that' attitude and was incredible cocky sounding, and to top it off she ended sentences with an upward lilt that drove me absolutely crazy! Sorry it is difficult to explain! I know it is just a matter of personal taste, but I would have like to buy the Garth Nix story about the bookseller, but won't because it has the same narrator!
