Summary

You should write it all down, Lou, so that your daughter can understand what happened. Everything. Right from the start.

Lou Cairney's life has never been dull. But through twenty years of ups, downs and really bad hairstyles, Lou has had the best friends a woman could hope for in Lizzy and Ginger. Growing up together, they shared their dreams and their disasters, broken hearts and career crashes and they survived it all thanks to love, hope, a large dollop of humour and cocktails. Until now; Lou needs her friends more than ever. Her past has just caught up with her in a shocking way. Everyone makes mistakes in life - but Lou has just discovered that she might have made the biggest one of all.

Loved it all. The book made me laugh out loud. Shari Lowe is an amazing writer. She vividly brings her characters to life. The narrator was fantastic too.

Warm, funny and relatable

Took me back to my own youth. This is a warm, funny, emotional and totally absorbing listen. Beautifully narrated. Sad it’s finished! Think “the girls”, should embark on a fitness journey together next - I can already hear Gingers protestations and see Lizzies calamities while Lou would be resolute in her goals.

Easy listen

I liked the nostalgia of the growing up days. it was just a really easy listen about friendship, well narrated. I'm still confused about all the proposals though, I think I tuned out for one of them!

Brilliant from start to finish

A fabulous story line , which found me forever wanting time on my own so I could keep listening. Really showed the ups and downs that can happen with friendships and family. only negative was the ending- very abrupt.
