She travels with as many as a dozen bodyguards and sent her children away. Bentancourt grew up in Paris, the daughter of Colombia's ambassador to UNESCO. Her mother was a political activist. Bentancourt's book about her fight against corruption was a best seller in France, where it was first published. It's just been published in English under the title Until Death Do Us Part: My Struggle to Reclaim Colombia. Bentancourt is 39 years old.
