Excellent reading
Fantastic reading by Kenneth Branagh, from the moment the story began I was drawn-in and absorbed. An unabridged recording would be even better!

An Audible Masterpiece!
Would you listen to Frankenstein again? Why?
Many people already know the story, or at least they think they do, but for me this abridged version was the perfect length to listen to in one sitting. I would definitely listen to this again just to relive the mastery of Branagh's narration.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Frankenstein?
The most memorable part for me was the first time Victor Frankenstein comes face to face with the monster he created. The despair Branagh puts into the performance is awe inspiring, coupled with Shelley's vivid and exciting prose. The ending chapter is also a highlight, for the wonderful words written by Shelley are only made stronger by Branagh's interpretation.
What does Kenneth Branagh bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
I have read the book and was astounded with its power and can see why is has become a classic, but hearing the words played out with such beautiful narration is a joy to behold. I feel I understand the characters more now, for Branagh manages to delve deep into them, and being the great actor he is, he plays them with purpose and poise.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
He created a monster.
Any additional comments?
If you like your tales to be of a macabre nature, you like classics, and you can survive the suspense of one of the best horror stories ever written, then you can't do better than this. Trust me, you'll never think of Frankenstein in the same way again.

Good but would prefer Branagh unabridged
Would you try another book written by Mary Shelley or narrated by Kenneth Branagh?
Definitely.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Victor as he is quite complex and well meaning but at the same time so destructive.
What three words best describe Kenneth Branagh’s performance?
Epic, gripping and thrilling like the film version (bad reviews of that we're unjust).
Was Frankenstein worth the listening time?
Certainly but would prefer a longer version.
