About this listen
It’s the near future, and thanks to a perfect storm of reckless banking practices, hyperinflation, a stock market gone mad, and the negligence of our elected officials, the entire social, political, and economic infrastructure of America has collapsed. Chaos reigns in the streets, medical treatment is no longer available, and a silent coup has placed a dangerous group of men at the helm of a false government.
America’s fate is in the hands of those few individuals who have the survival skills, the faith, and the forethought to return this country to the state its founding fathers intended.

I liked the idea the story is based on. However I found it consisted of too many lists of weapons, kit and religious groups for me.

Now we can buy some ice cream.
Oh dear. The worst thing about this book is that I think Rawles actually believes the validity of his stories, as he is a genuine prepper. It’s sad because he has actually written a good manual on survival but cant write fiction to save his life.
I reviewed his second book survivors and generously gave it an average rating but I can’t do the same here. It is utter fantasy, total rubbish, a gross travesty. He is trying to relive the American Revolution and it just falls flat on its face.
C’mon Rawles, the evil UN and German mercenary’s invading the American mainland and forcing good God loving Yankees to live under a tyrannical dictatorship is just too much to bear. Its so cheesy and so riddled with hypocrisy I hate your one-dimensional characters I hate the story and I hate your preachy attitude. Stop milking this dying cash cow. Put some passion into your books and stop writing rubbish with your self as the hero characters. The only good thing I can say about this book as it’s the final in the trilogy and I doubt anyone will publish anything of his again.
