About this listen
Welcome to Fortune Academy, a school where supernaturals can feel at home — except, I have no idea what the hell I am.
The last thing I remember is arriving at the massive gates with a Bounty Hunter staring me down. I have a feeling he was supposed to take me to the monster holding arena to fight and die. Instead, I'm Fortune Academy's newest student.
I can relate to the monsters in ways the other students can't. My mentor, who is way too hot for his own good, tells me my behavior is the result of my memory loss and that I'm just trying to identify with a past pain that I've buried too far to feel. I think he's wrong. I think the reason I can't relate to any of the students is because I'm one of the monsters they're trained to kill.
I don't fit into any of the supernatural cliques, but that doesn't stop me from collecting bullies. A brawny alpha shifter, a moody dark mage, and a playboy demi-god have decided to break me. They think I don't have any powers and that I was recruited by mistake. It'll be their funeral if they push me too far, because this girl isn't taking any of their shit.
My name is Lily Fallen, but don't let my pretty face fool you. I'm a monster in a school uniform and it's only a matter of time before I teach my bullies a lesson they won't forget.
Fortune Academy: Year One is the first of three novels in an upper YA/NA paranormal academy series. Expect a slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance where there are five guys and no choosing required!

Fortune Academy: Year One
Can I just say WOW! This book hit all the spots. I love RH academy books. Lily is a supernatural, except she has no clue what she is, and neither does anyone else. This is not your typical supernatural academy book. I was hooked from the first literal sentence. I love a head strong, badass FMC. I can't wait to see what happens next. Vanessa Moyen did a fantastic job narrating, as always. I highly recommend it!

Loved It
Really good story that humanises the concept of supernatural beings. Glad the ages set it at university as it made it more relatable to adults.

Excellent
This is Book 1 in the series. J R Thorn has done it again. This book has literally everything and more. She is definitely one of my favourite authors!! (shhhh don't tell everyone though!!) This books glues you right until the very end. I listened to it on audio and the narration was spot on, however she spoke sooooo fast. So once I slowed her voice down, I settled in to a very enjoyable book!! Top marks! Book 2.... bring it on!!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I have provided this voluntary review.

Fast paced and full of action
This book was all action right from the beginning, J.R. Thorn weaves a tale of magic and intrigue and an exciting cast of characters in the cut-throat world of the acadamy Lily is thrust into. We are left with two burning questions, just who is Lily Fallen, and when is book 2 out?!

A fortune of a great listen fortune of a great boo
Book 1 in the series. Loved how J.R took a series and put everything into this story . It’s a reverse harem story that will have you glued till the end. What more do you need , Olympus Demi Gods , Monsters that worship the dark lord , dark Mages that gave up their souls for their power and some stuck up ladies that think they are it . Then there is Lily the heroine. Lilly has a problem, she can’t remember anything, her memory is wiped clean . A hunter tracks her down at a bar and tells her she needs to go to Fortune Academy meanwhile the ladies at the bar says she belongs to Monster Academy. When she gets to Fortune Academy the hunter needs to sneak her in. Lily needs to hide who she really is that’s what she’s told . What powers does Lily have , you also get a sense of her mates and you also see her bond with one mate . Love how Lily disrupted the Greek Demigods power party . Grab it and see who Lily really is
Vanessa performance was spot on. Her voice and tone is great for all the characters .

Waste of a credit
The story and characters was boring and i cringed a lot. There was no world building. The plots and twists was predictable. It was a waste of the credit. Had big hopes, but was disappointed.
