About this listen
Caprice:
I left because I had to; my father was selling me off to the most dangerous man in the world like I was a prized pony. There was already so much taken from me at the hands of my father, and I would allow nothing else to be ripped from me - especially my future.
It was simple. I found a new identity. I wasn’t Caprice DiGiovanni, I was Amber, a sweet and sassy Southern girl from Alabama. I ran to the last place my father would expect me to go - Ireland.
Everything was working out great for me - that is, until Sergei found me. I just never anticipated Liam Mackenzie coming to bat for me. He knew Amber; he never knew Caprice. Now he’s got us both.
Liam:
From the second she walked into my bar and asked for a job, I knew she was special. Something about this Southern girl caught my eye. It didn’t take me very long to discover that she was hiding something; her awful accent was proof of that.
It turns out she was far rarer than I could ever imagine. When her world came crashing down around her, I was the one ready to pick her up. It didn’t matter that she was off-limits, or that she was forbidden in every sense of the word. I’d find a way to make her mine, and I did. Caprice DiGiovanni is my forbidden love.

Absolutely brutal
There is nothing fluffy about this book. The storyline is intense. With lots of action throughout and a gripping storyline it will have you hooked from the first chapter. A fantastic performance from both narrators.

A great Listen
Caprice has gone through so much in the hands of her father. To some, family is the go to place when you are down, to others, it's the one thing you run away from. Then comes Liam and everything starts looking up for Caprice. A well written book a d so well performed. I listened to it in one day and loved every minute of it. I highly recommend.

good start!
author and narrators were all new to me. I liked the way the story is written and I appreciated the quotes at the beginning of every chapters. the story is a little predictable but not boring at all. looking forward to listening to the rest of the series. narration was good, I particularly enjoyed Gabriel. Rose's accent for the FC was a bit too pronounced for my liking, but she did a great job nevertheless.

Fast paced
As this is my first read by this author I had no idea what to expect writing wise, but I found this to be a fast paced story. it was easy to read and I read it in one sitting. I am interested to see what happens in other book both in this series and in other genres. I volunteered to listen to a complimentary copy of this. All opinions are my own.

Well Elizabeth has certainly just completely blown me away with this one. I found the emotions that were raised in this one because of the events that the main characters went through during their lives. Elizabeth is capable of bringing her books to life through her descriptions and her words. Then add in a fantastic narration team and you have all you need for an amazing book.

Caprice and Liam…
An Irish mobster finds his suitable Italian princess. This is an engaging story where a runaway ends up in the arms of danger, maybe. Caprice is promised to a business associate of his cruel father. She scapes that to a new life and finds a new husband. Liam is the man, he protects her against dark forces and dangerous men. His right hand man gets involved in that too, so I am hoping his story is next. Full of action, angst and suspense the book is narrated to give all the feels. I enjoyed it!

My Thoughts on Forbidden Love
3.5 of 5 stars
This is a dark romance set in the criminal/cartel world. It was surprising and thrilling and full of secrets. After finishing it I definitely knew that I’d want to hear more of the series and these characters, even if there were a few things that I didn’t love. One of the characters in particular for me didn’t quiet redeem herself enough to be likable by the end. There were too many moments that I couldn’t just chalk up as the character being young or naïve. Some of her actions felt too much like betrayal to me and could have gotten other characters killed. There were also so many secrets in the seemingly close knit Mackenzie family. It was as though every couple of chapters (if not sooner) something new was being revealed that ended up upsetting the balance or hurting someone. It wouldn’t have been so bad if it didn’t make me question just how close they are and their overall bond. Also there were a few loose thread plot lines that weren’t resolved by the end of story. As I know this series will continue, I am hopeful I will get answers to those questions, but it just seemed like a lot of it was specific to these main characters so if other characters are the focus of future books, how will that work? I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.
On the other hand, there were several things I did like about this story. The main characters Liam and Caprice were really likable individually and together. For the most part I loved the family loyalty shown by Liam’s family. They clearly loved each other and were willing to make sacrifices to protect one another. It was very refreshing to see especially in comparison to Caprice’s family. Another thing that I also really liked was the narration. Both narrators did a very good job especially with at least three different accents that needed to be voiced. And there were so many characters to give different tones to as well. It was very well done.
