Hmmmmm

Any additional comments?

Having read all of Harlan's books before, I struggled with this - it was really hard for me to get into and I can't put my finger on why but I put it down to just not liking the story. I did not like the lead character Mia and found her plain weird. The fact she had no feelings for anyone or anything (other than guns) was also just weird. However, the twist I did not see coming, I had hoped it would be good to make up for not enjoying the story and it was, really good. Having said this, it really doesn't make up for the rest of the story, so I've finished it but feel I wish I hadn't read it. A real shame as I always look forward to his books.

Great story telling

This is a real page turner,Harlen Coben at his very best the story is very believable and the way January tells it makes you think you are actually there you love some characters hate others
But I never once tried to guess the ending I let the story unfold to its climax.

Slow build up, action packed ending.

Started slow, not much to like of the main character, then took off at the end. Some of the voices were annoying but not bad enough to stop listening. A number of twists kept it interesting. Worth a credit.

Coben at his best

If you could sum up Fool Me Once in three words, what would they be?

Stays with you

What other book might you compare Fool Me Once to, and why?

The Dead Don't Sleep - another book that kept you enthralled throughout

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It kept me trying to predict - unsuccessfully - what the next turn it would take

Another HC gem

Harlan Coben has done it again. A brilliantly written story with twists, background, likeable characters and a few not so likeable characters. If you like crime stories with more than just the crime, Coben is for you. This book didn't let him down.

Gripping

The story kept my attention throughout, with an unexpected twist at the end. Good narration by January LaVoy.

One of his best

Another really entertaining novel where there is no way you can work out the twists and turns so you are kept guessing right until the end.
Much appears to have been made by other reviewers of the fact it is a female lead and it doesn't quite sit right or Maya is not an authentic character. As a woman, I thought he got it spot on. You would not be able to well whether the author was a man or a woman if you had not read one of Harlan's books previously. I am not sure what many men are expecting from a female character or what they really think women are like.
Well impressed and enjoyable
