About this listen

Welcome to Ireland. Now die.

Conrad has a lot on his plate, and recovering from a punctured kidney is only the start….

Top of his to-do list is a trip to Cornwall for an interview with Morwenna Mowbray, vessel and victim of Fae magick.

Before he can go, Tom Morton has news on the missing book, the Codex Defanatus.

And soon it becomes clear that all roads lead across the Irish Sea, to a country where Conrad has no jurisdiction, no allies, and where his enemies are not one, but two Fae queens.

He knows that it’s a long road to Galway, and that when he gets to the end, he’ll be alone, but choosing his travelling companions is only the first challenge.

Conrad’s struggle to wash the stain of the Codex from his family name reaches a climax in the ninth book of the King’s Watch, Five Leaf Clover.

Grab a copy now and find out if Conrad has the luck of the Irish.

A good tale well told

These stories are very entertaining. The magical world is very engaging and dynamic. The narrator is excellent and the characterisation is well thought out and cohesive. My one criticism is that the story is repeatedly sidelined by a really shallow and irritating fiancée. This is perhaps meant to cushion scenes between the action but it’s hard to get through the dialogue of such an irritating character. We move from great camaraderie and action, to brain dead soap opera dialogue for a chapter, and then, thankfully, back into the action. Not so bad in this book as he’s travelling. These are, however, still very much worth a listen!

Another brilliant story

I love listening to these stories and can’t wait for the next one. The listener is drawn in by Ciaran Saward’s excellent narration which brings the characters and story to life. Sorry, but took off a star because I wasn’t so impressed by Tamsin Kennard. All the female characters sounded the same.

Really do not like the lady narrator

I wasn’t a big fan story telling moving between characters but accepted it because it made it easier to tell the story.

Adding an extra narrator really ruined the story telling, the accents and they way she presents characters is completely different to the way the main narrator does it and it really takes you out of the story. It doesn’t add anything to it and I feel it shouldn’t have happened.

Story wise, really had no idea what was going on in this book. I’ve enjoyed all the other ones but this one just didnt do it for me.

Good book ruined by a change of narrator

I’ve liked all the other books but found this one a bit annoying. The change of narrator was annoying. She just didn’t pull off the characters as well.

Not bad, not good. average.

Not the best storyline and narration by Tamsin Kennard is rather annoying. Not bad just not as good as I''d expected.
