About this listen
When I let my most embarrassing secret slip to the person I wanted it kept from most of all.
Damn you, tequila.
I'm a grown woman. I turned thirty this year, and I've been running my own business for the last decade, a dream I made a reality all on my own. I have an amazing group of friends. Life is good. I'm happy.
Well, except for one little problem I'm still a virgin.
How did this happen? How did I manage to live this long without ever making it past second base? I don't know. Maybe it just never felt right. Maybe I was waiting for something. Or someone.
When local football star Foster McKenna moves into my bed & breakfast for a long stay while his own house is being built, I know it's him. He's the one I've been waiting for. I'm finally ready to get rid of this V-card, once and for all, and Foster is just the man to divest me of it. I've been crushing on him for months, and now that were here, all alone in this big house.
But when a little liquid courage turns into a full-on bender, I accidentally let my secret slip. And all the things I liked about Foster his honesty, his integrity, his kindness and strength of will turn out to be the bane of my existence. Despite being obviously attracted to me, he won't give me what I want. He's trying to protect me. From him. From myself.
Well, screw that. If he won't rid me of this godforsaken virginity, I'll find someone who will. Then maybe he'll see me as a woman, and not some fragile flower he needs to protect.
Oh, but he doesn't like that idea.
Not one little bit.

Hadley and Foster!
Running a bed & breakfast is the career that Hadley has always wanted however when it comes to men she is inexperienced. Now she has Foster staying with her and what begins as a friendship leads to a drunken confession and a determination that she wants him to be her first.
Foster is a professional football player who never intended to marry or have a family. As he spends time with Hadley he sees what life with her could be like and he wants to be her first and only however he wants to ensure that she is ready.
Foster and Hadley were such a perfect couple. He soon realizes that he wants more than a physical connection and he is patient and understanding until he knows that she is ready and then it is game on! The narrators were a perfect choice for the characters as you could feel Hadley’s insecurities and Foster’s steadying force as he shows her they are meant to be. 🎧 Pink Flamingo Productions

Sweet romance
This book follows on from the previous books with the theme. A lovely but struggling business owner helping a well written sports star that turns into love. Finding your dreams is the first step to fulfilling them. A brilliant performance.

Perfect Partnership
Hadley owns an inn and when Foster moves in for a while because he is building a house sparks fly but these two realize they have much more in common. Foster is an excellent chef and he knows when his career is over what his future entails. Hadley knows what her future entails it’s just a matter of finding the right partner. With help from her friends Hadley will strive to find that partner in Foster. Really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to finally listen to Sky’s story.

Hadley & Foster
Another fun installment of the Branston Bandits! This one features Hadley and Foster. Foster is on the team, building a house and needs a place to stay until it's finished. Hadley owns the local bed and breakfast and Foster makes his new home there for the time being. Chemistry is there immediately, but neither do relationships. And when Foster learns her secret, he is even more wary of starting anything. Living together, seeing each other and that push pull that keeps things sizzling. Will it lead to more? I loved this story. There is a lot packed in here other than the relationship budding. The idea that Foster has a plan for after football had my ears perk up. Smart and talented, he put it to good use as he dated Hadley. The slow pace Foster put forth showed his extremely caring side as well as how much he guarded his own heart. And the care that Hadley put into their love had me rooting the whole way! This is a fabulous listen and a great addition to the series.
Cecily Foster and James Amherst bring this gem to life with a wonderful performance. Each gives their own spin on the character personalities, creating the perfect world for them to grow. I enjoyed both of their voices, the addition of the characters we have met before and the warmth and love they brought out. It was a fun narration.

Wholesome!
When I got this audiobook I went back and listened to the first 2 so that I knew the backstop, even though it could be listened to as a standalone. I absolutely adored this entire series. It's funny, easy to listen to and the characters are loveable.
Hadley and Foster in this are just adorable. While Hadley is trying hard to ignore her crush even though he's the ONLY guest at her b&b, Foster is determined that he can't show an interest in Hadley because love is just not for him.
Well that lasts long 🤣. After an accident while playing football, Foster and Hadley are forced to confront the ostensibly of their feelings and finally move forward with their future.

My Thoughts on First and Goal
This was a really sweet story. It’s the first thing that comes to mind when I think about my overall feelings for the story. The leading lady has come across as a really kind, shy, but likeable person in the previous books. And that didn’t change with this one. With this story though, we also got to see a sassy side to her, but it was presented in such a good way that it solidified my overall feelings of really liking the character. The leading man on the other hand. I didn’t really feel I knew as well from the previous stories but got to know him quite a bit better here and ended up liking him a lot as well. I appreciate that there was at least some foundation of friendship between the two main characters prior to him moving in, so when they got together, it didn’t feel quite so rushed. And then I liked that they spent time together after he moved in and had a chance to get to know each other as his negative feelings from previous history developed and changed. I enjoyed both narrators and thought they gave a really good performance and once this story was over and done, I found myself liking what I just listened to. I may not rank this one as my favorite in the series is so far, but it was definitely a good one.
