About this listen

MERCY HAS A COST. TIME FOR VICTOR TO PAY.

Assassin-for-hire Victor is in Bucharest, Romania, to kill two targets meeting to exchange stolen intelligence his client wants back. It should be a simple task - until he realises the second of his targets is a former ally. Even for a man of Victor's twisted morality, he's not prepared to kill someone to whom he owes his life.

To atone for not completing the job, Victor agrees to take on the kind of dangerous assignment he would otherwise avoid. At a conference on international relations, he must identify and assassinate a killer just like him and remain unseen, despite a guest list of spies, dignitaries, and security experts. Even for an elite professional, the job is a tall order - which is why he looks for help from the person whose life he spared in Romania.

Yet unbeknownst to Victor, the Bucharest contract stepped on the toes of powerful enemies from his past; enemies who now know exactly where to find him . . .

A fantastic roundup & a great new beginning

This book was a great way to tie up a huge lose end in Victors story only to leave a question mark at the end.
I’ve love every second of this book and I’m finding more ways to make time to listen to it.
A fantastic read and a great story. Looking forward to the next one.

Another brilliant read!

Victor is back to his ruthless ways! Another favorite character of mine was back in this book as well. I love their interactions and how they bounce off each other. Already looking forward to the next one!!

Action, Longievety and Deoth

Loved it. Best “Victor” out of the recent books
Hooked all the way through. Facing his memesis. Some stories end too soon. This one was perfect, in all aspects. The stage is set for the next. Excellent!

Cracking book!

Another excellent book in this series. Victor is a complex character trying to complete his contracts whilst remaining unseen and nameless.
Each book gives us a little bit more of his background as he navigates the complexities of being an assassin. Good to have the return of a fellow assassin; their interactions are amusing.
Excellent narration by Peter Noble.

Another outstanding listen

I find these books hard to turn off. They make my journeys enjoyable.

Victor back at his best. A softening, as age progresses, yet still as lethal as ever.

The return of Raven intrigues me, the romantic in me wishes they’d become an item and work together.

Wonderfully narrated, written masterfully.

Unmissable.

When’s the next please?

another brilliant Victor the assassin novel

Good story, occasionally too detailed but never to thr point of boring. Brilliant performance - another gripping book in the series - if only they were released more frequently.

Most of the Chapters were fight scenes

I enjoy the Victor the Assassin books but this is my least favourite one. There are 90 chapters, most are detailed fight scenes!
And don't get me started on the voices of the characters! They are poor, some were indistinguishable leaving me confused about who was doing what, and where people were from.
My message to the author and narrator: you need to do better. You can do better.
