Summary

They told David it was impossible - that even the Reckoners had never killed a High Epic. Yet, Steelheart - invincible, immortal, unconquerable - is dead. And he died by David's hand.

Eliminating Steelheart was supposed to make life more simple. Instead, it only made David realise he has questions. Big ones. And there's no one in Newcago who can give him the answers he needs.

Babylon Restored, the old borough of Manhattan, has possibilities, though. Ruled by the mysterious High Epic, Regalia, David is sure Babylon Restored will lead him to what he needs to find. And while entering another city oppressed by a High Epic despot is a gamble, David's willing to risk it. Because killing Steelheart left a hole in David's heart. A hole where his thirst for vengeance once lived.

Somehow, he filled that hole with another Epic - Firefight. And he's willing to go on a quest darker and more dangerous even than the fight against Steelheart to find her and to get his answers.

Brilliant!!

Brandon Sanderson has a crazy genius mind. The concepts for books he comes up with So different to anything else I've ever read I really can't wait for the next book. I have read every series of books he is looking and every single one is gripping. I get lost in the stories I believe the characters and everything is brought to life by amazing narration with so many characters have such distinct voices and things like age and sex of the can clearly be distinguished. As you may guess from this review I would highly recommend firefight and anything that Brandon Sanderson writes!

Loved the idea and translated well to an audiobook. Well read and you could really hear the different characters.

Brilliant, funny and unique!!

I loved this sequel to Steelheart, I enjoyed Steelheart but this was much better. The main character, David, is a breath of fresh air and put a lighthearted and humorous slant on the stories. I thoroughly enjoy the uniqueness of Brandon Sanderson's books, very clever storylines and although these books would appeal to a young reader I have really enjoyed them as well. I am
Looking forward to reading the next one.

An improvement over the first book

The plot in the second book wasn't as predictable as the first. For a YA book it's not too bad

Just Incredible

Any additional comments?

This is Brandon Sanderson. He's always at his best. I'd say that this is superior then Steelheart. The story advances along and we find more about about Prof, Megan, David, while also learning more about Epics and Calamity. There is also a whole new city to explore being set in New York. The narrator is excellent, one of my favorites. Just buy it.

Felt more like a romantic intermission.

Well written as always for B Sanderson but too much of a romantic angst story and improbabilities with people ignoring cataclysmic events as they are more interested in a romantic engagement.
Disappointing story not brilliantly read by the narrator.

Great followup.

Great sequel to the first book. Looked forward to listening. If this was a normal book I would describe it as a page turner.

Perfection

Another perfect story from Mr prolific but still not fast enough Sanderson. Exciting and unexpected, can't wait to see how the series continues
