Summary

Tegen, headstrong druid-in-training, has struck out alone - but the world beyond her village is a dangerous place. The Roman invaders are tightening their grip on the land and the British tribes are warring instead of uniting. When Tegen meets a sensible young druid he seems the perfect guide. But Owein's dark past is chasing him and he brings Tegen into the orbit of a deadly new enemy.

The Shadow Walker covets her new found fire-magic - and will stop at nothing to control the young Fire Dreamer's spiralling powers...

Loved this historical fantasy

Ancient Briton is fascinating and I love hearing fantasy stories set in these times, usually it’s Middle Ages similar to Tolkien but this is set a bit earlier and you can tell it’s been well researched. Engaging characters and plot, I loved the first book and this hasn’t disappointed. Very much looking forward to the next instalment!

Absorbing historical tale

While this is the second in a series yet in progress, I didn't find it necessary to have any prior knowledge - the book is entirely self-contained (if leaving the reader/listener eager to see what happens next!).

An utterly absorbing tale that wraps you up and takes you with it. The gentle voice of the narrator makes it clear who is speaking at all times, and paints a picture of the ancient British landscape and the magic it holds.

Ideal for older children and adults alike. I hope to hear more from this series in future!
