About this listen

One horrific crime. One missing suspect.

When an officer is called to a house, he discovers a chilling and bizarre crime scene. Sitting at a dining room table, as if enjoying their evening meal, he finds the decomposing bodies of an entire family. Each one murdered and posed like mannequins.

The only person missing from the disturbing scene is the family maid, Elizabeth.

Detective Richard Crombie is assigned the case but after weeks of pressure and no results, he reluctantly requests the help of criminal psychiatrist, Doctor Killam, who once worked with Scotland Yard.

But who did kill the family? Does Elizabeth hold the key to the violent mystery?

While the detective and the doctor investigate the murders and hunt for the missing maid, it becomes apparent that they are up against a terrifying psychopath who has a thirst for death and no intention of stopping....

Contains mature themes.

Excellent book

Having just finished the audible version of Finding Elizabeth, I quickly checked to see if there was a book 2, unfortunately there isn't at the moment. I do hope there is a sequel in the near future. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the book and found the storyline very original. Thank you Debra Meller.

Good Storyline

Very interesting storyline, definitely had me in suspense at times, especially after the main character escaped from prison. Interesting twists and turns. I would definitely want to hear more about this psychopath and know if she gets recaptured.

Different!

Strangely intriguing. The settings are well described and atmospheric and the plot, although requiring a certain suspension of disbelief, definitely reeled me in.

Dreadful Narration

This has to be the worst narrator I have come across whilst a member of Audible. Her attempts at male voices in particular were lamentable and it was impossible to differentiate between the characters. The story wasn’t too bad but I was disappointed with the ending. I would probably give the author another chance but there is no way I could cope with the same narrator.

would make a great film

The narration isn't the best, why have an American narrating a British story with no US connections?

But, it's a great story with an intriguing ending.

would make a great historic drama & will definitely look out for more of this author's books

Good story. Dreadful narration.

Only got to chapter 6 and couldn't stand the narrators attempts at characterisation. Story was going so well but the vocal range and tone of the narrator, plus use of American terms. was just too much to bear!

Shockingly poor narrator spoilt

What could have been a good tale was ruined by the amateur unprepared American voice actor. The story was set in England! Yet the reader insisted on saying rout for route, sidewalk for pavement, tho this last may have been Author trying for American market. Confused as to which period the story set as they kept saying cab, not Hackney cab, then next time it's a carriage? Most perplexing was the use of the phone? was this available 1800's ? Next chapter they're sending telegrams? Telegraph!! Don't even ask about the laughable male voices this narrator attempted! Shocking, annoying distracting. Sadly Billy no mates here stayed to the bitter end, I wanted to see how it ended or whether it could get any worse. Certainly couldn't get better.
