About this listen
A stolen hammer. A dead suspect. A terrifying trail of murder.
Sweet Home, Oregon. Detective Lacey James needs to solve her marriage problems. But with her focus on a culprit escaping after a robbery call, she’s alarmed when she discovers his getaway car hides a chilling collection of rope, gloves, zip ties, and a gun. But her success in hunting him down turns into horror when the man grabs a firearm, killing a fellow officer before himself.
As her only lead lies silent on a slab, the dedicated investigator’s suspicions are confirmed after discovering a woman connected to the case is missing. And fearing time is running out for the kidnapped victim, Lacey follows clues to a gruesome scene warning her she might already be too late.
Can she unravel the truth before the morgue claims another corpse?

So Loved
Brilliant dual narration from Cass Medcalf and Nathan Agin
I have to say I was pulled in from the start. We start with a theft of a hammer from a local hardware store in Sweet Home, Oregon. We get to know the characters in the first part and in the second section we find out who our villain is and but not until the end do you understand why a hammer.
Noah a security guard who is obsessed with the third person a young women called Eden who is a beautiful red head who works in a shop in the same shopping mall as Noah.
I so want to say such more, but if I do I know I will give away the plot. A great mystery/thriller,
Recommend.

Review
I was definitely expecting something way different from this book. Maybe because it was a detective book I was expecting way more mystery and crime solving, but that wasn't what happened. However, I still absolutely enjoyed this story. If you're hoping to solve the mystery alongside Lacey, don't. It's not one of those books. Instead, it takes us to the beginning, then from Noah's point of view, back to Lacey. This was different than the normal formula but it worked. I was so drawn in and just couldn't wait to continue to see what happened. It threw me off a little but once I realized what was happening, I was here for it.
Lacey was a decent character. As a whole, I enjoyed her but there was just one part that irked me. Her and her husband are having some issues since he works in a different state. So she blames him for not making time for her and says how his job is his priority but not his family. However, she is guilty of the same thing? Regardless, it works out but it just bothered me. Luckily that was just a small portion of the book and not her whole personality. I will absolutely continue this series and can't wait for the next!
Overall, Find Her by Chris Patchell was a win for me! Moving away from the normal formula for detective novels, this books follows Lacey then Noah before it's "solved". Usually, as a reader, I solve the case alongside the detective but this was done in a different manner, and it worked! I loved this change of pacing and thought it was a very interesting way to do a crime book.

Gripping Thriller
I loved the way this story was told and how everything unfolded. It all starts with a hammer and blossoms into an intriguing thriller. The twists were wonderfully done and everything came together so well.
This was my first book by this author but I’ll definitely be checking out more and I am eagerly looking forward to continuing this series.

Bite sized mystery
Wow! I was so confused by the different parts at first, but it was still so good, and I couldn't stop reading, and then - WHAM - plot twist that tied it all together! Lacey is my new hero and I have to read the rest of this series.
From a suspicious store owner, to a hammer thief, to a stolen car, to - THAT WENT DARK SO FAST!!!! Compelling, clever and such a nail biter - I'm hooked! The audio book is a perfect bite size for a long commute or a couple of long walks. I'm off to the next book!

My Thoughts on Find Her
If you’re looking for a quick yet satisfying completely engaging mystery with twists and turns that keep you surprised and guessing, then this is definitely one to check out. This was a new to me author and I am so happy I checked this story out. I appreciated the way the story was told, although I’ll admit I was a bit confused at first. By the end it all tied together perfectly. I also really liked the layers of the story. This wasn’t just about what the cops were doing. It wasn’t overly bogged down with police procedure and jargon. It also had real life, relatable issues and an interesting look on the other side of the mystery I wasn’t expecting when going in. It was all complemented by both narrators' performance. Cass Medcalf and Nathan Agin did a great job and I look forward to more books from both author and the narrators.

Great Story & Narration🎧 A Thrilling Mystery!
This fantastic small-town crime thriller is well-written with interesting storylines that captivate your attention the entire time. The story starts with the theft of a hammer at a local hardware store in Sweet Home, Oregon. The owner, Sadie, called 911 to report it and Officer Lacey James from Sweet Home P.D. responds to the call, and is on the case, a case that leads them into something much bigger. I enjoyed the author’s writing style and how she presented the story in three parts, starting with what leads them to the investigation, the second part was about the perpetrator and what he was up to and why, the third part brings it all together. Excellent detective work by Lacey James, I loved her dedication to solve the crime and not give up on finding her. It is a cleverly plotted story with plenty of drama, both crime and personal, some angst, mystery, and thrilling suspense that brings you to the edge of your seat. Chris Patchell, thank you for this great story and thrilling ride, I am looking forward to what comes next for Lacey James.
🎧 📚🎧 Cass Medcalf and Nathan Agin did a great job bringing the characters and story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, gave each a voice that was a perfect fit for that character’s persona, and were believable in every role they played. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen.

Gripping Thriller
I'm thrilled to have listened to this suspense thriller Find Her. It's the first book in the The Lacey James Series. I love reading about women's detective fiction and how they not only take on the bad guys but also disrupt the "old boy" network and smash the patriarchy . Detective Lacey James does that and more in this nail-biting thriller. I can't wait to listen to the rest of this series and see how Detective Lacey James grows as a detective and how the case's she takes on shapes her.
Really Good narration too.
