About this listen
"You made a bargain . . .
Your soul for his—and now, you are mine."
Cate Holloway knows the unspoken rule of New Orleans: avoid the powerful Gage crime family at all costs. Of course, that was before her brother got caught in their chaos. Now Cate has no choice but to confront the dark and forbidding prince of New Orleans himself . . . and beg for her brother's life.
But Lachlan Gage is as lethal as he is beautiful . . . and the only currency he's interested in is her soul.
Because Lachlan isn't just some ruthless criminal. He's fae. And he has his own secret reasons for binding her to him.
Tricked and desperate, Cate is torn between humanity and the breathtaking Otherworld. A place filled with shadows and secrets, with members of each fae court plotting against her just as her captor's motives for trapping her become more mysterious.
And if she can't break this sinister bargain in the next thirty days, she'll be bound to the inscrutable yet infuriatingly tempting fae prince and his deadly world . . . forever.
Contains mature themes.

Wow
I don’t want to give too much away so I’m only going to say that this book is amazing don’t hesitate for one second to purchase it. I went for the Audible version and it didn’t disappoint, both male and female narrators were perfect bringing so much feeling to the main characters you can’t not fall in love with them. At times I wanted to scream and at others cry, only a good book can bring all of these emotions together and make you want more. We end on a cliffhanger so we’ll have to wait patiently or actually very impatiently for book 2. Oh my I’m just so excited to see where this will go. Absolutely 100% 5 starts from me. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌶️🌶️🌶️

Intense
Raquel Beattie is an excellent narrator, whose tone and timbre add tension and awe to this intense thriller romance; she reads almost 10 hours before the 2nd narrator joins. Aiden Snow was the reason I chose this book, but I am not disappointed.
Well written, to install an almost almanac of the hows and whats of fae life with terms and vernacular that familiarizes the listener with arcane knowledge in a very soft way rather than getting Arcana for Dummies.
Enjoyed how the mystical and sinister is woven to intrigue and manoeuvre Kate (Hecate? the goddess of spells in ancient Greece) to learn and use her powers.
This maybe insta-love, but it is not insta-sex, so we get to enjoy how the relationship unfolds through all stages in slow slow tantalizing increments.
ENJOYABLE

Good first couple chapters but then ...
The first few chapters and the sample blurb really pull you in to think this book would be exciting and interesting it even says romance thriller in the description, but my god I couldn't even get to half way it got bad really quickly and so boring and I mean really really dull, Gage was the Fae (supposed anti hero) was basically not anything he was so dull had about as much vim as a piece of dust and as for the heroine can't even remember her name but least she had more to her she's a nurse who cherished her late mothers ring and brother (non blood) they grew up together after he got shot she goes to Gage to ask for mercy on her brother and subsequently without realising gage is fae offers her soul for her brothers. Pretty exciting you think well it had started to get dull there and when they went to fairy land I cracked up more ridiculousness as ooo guess what it's all shiny and perfect yawn, I'm sorry to say I could not continue after this, to say I was bored to tears was an understatement. I don't know, maybe it gets better but I honestly can't be arsed to see, maybe people love this story and I'm being to overly critical, it's just you pay 7.99 for a audio to take you out of reality for a bit and it to be an adventure and to many times audible has shafted me with this sort of gunff, and honestly I'm sick of it writers need and should write more passionately invest more in there work care more not keep pushing out this sort of drivel it's not fair to the audience (ie hello me), I want to be captivated not bored to tears, I want to be able not to wait to hear the next part of a book not think there's more money down the drain. I'm sorry if it's mean to the writer but it's true for me. Good bit the narrator was good except for Gages voice I didn't like.
