About this listen

What's stopping you from asking for a raise right now? If you're like most people, it's fear - fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of losing your job, or simply fear of the negotiation process. But what if you knew you could not lose?

In Fifty Grades of Pay, author B. G. Knoll takes you through a no-fail system for getting the salary you deserve. In this concise business briefing, you'll learn:

  1. Why you must ask for a raise if you want to protect your career
  2. Why salary ranges in job postings are notoriously unreliable and where you really need to do your research
  3. How much more you need to ask for than what you want
  4. How to prepare for your meeting with your manager and what you need to say
  5. How to request a meeting with your manager
  6. How to time your meeting for the best success
  7. How to structure your presentation covering five key areas to ensure your success
  8. The worst words and phrases you absolutely must not use when asking for a raise
  9. How to overcome common objections to granting your raise
  10. How to respond if you receive anything other than a firm yes
  11. Why you should never suggest a counteroffer

The author takes you through the thought process you need to undergo before asking for that raise, what questions you need to ask yourself and being prepared for any counterargument. It's narrated in a positive way which makes you feel optimistic and worthy of that raise. My first thought was it was a short book but the information is delivered in a direct to the point manner, giving you what you need before asking for that raise.

I LOVED this audiobook! It contains so much value. If you work for "the boss", you must have a listen. It puts so many aspects of working as an employee into perspective. As well as offering simple tips to help build towards making the salary request move, it allowed me to gain understanding of my actual value within my area of work, and how to fully claim what I truly believe I am entitled to, as a representation of my worth. Definitely worth a listen!

This book is excellent! it tackles some very real issues in the workplace. From the start of the book to the very end, it had me gripped!

I have found myself in this situation so many times, I start to fret and worry about how I’m going to ask for a raise. (Even rehearsing it in the mirror). But it never comes out how I want it to, because I don’t know what to say.

This book really drills down into How to request a raise effectively and confidently! I have learnt so much and will pass this book onto my son. He will really benefit from this book too.

I highly recommend this book! I never have to worry again about having that awkward conversation!

I wish I had listened to this book sooner...
